Question about Yamaha RX-V595A Receiver

Open Question

RX-V595a will not turn on

THe basics were covered. Sent to one shop and said it was not worth fixing. Would not say what the problem was. Second shop checked power supplies and said the problem looks to be the main microprocessor.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V595A tuns off automatically

This was happening to mine also, all of a sudden. This solution came from the owners manual. Sure enough, the impedance selector was stuck in the middle , between 4 and 8 ohms....I also, made sure the speaker wires were not touching each other at the splice. Problem fixed.

The unit fails to turn on when
STANDBY/ON is pressed, or set in
the standby mode suddenly soon
after the power has been turned on.
The power cord is not plugged in or the
plug is not completely inserted.
The IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch
on the rear panel is not fully set to the
upper or lower end.
Firmly plug in the power cord.
Set the switch fully to the upper or
lower end when the unit is in the
standby mode.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V595a receiver shuts off 2 seconds after its powered on

The first thing called out is the impedance switch on the back is not fully in one or the other position. Cycle the switch back and forth to make sure it will 'read' each setting, then turn it on.

Also make sure you if you have anything connected to its convenience outlets that they are not drawing more current than is allowed.

Did you buy it used or new?

Is The Rx Helper a real business or a scam

Part of a Better Business Bureau report on the company -- Our files contain a pattern of complaints from consumers that allege that RX Helper fails to issue refunds after they have cancelled their accounts. Other consumers complain about wanting to cancel their services due to lack of correspondence and poor customer service from The Rx Helper.

The Rx Helper generally responds to these complaints by referring the consumer to their refund policy.
On October 15, 2013, BBB sent correspondence to The Rx Helper requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving complaints on file with BBB and providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints.
- See more at: http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/prescription-benefit-consultants/the-rx-helper-in-lake-worth-fl-90047495#sthash.QWGh7cLw.dpuf

Basically the BBB says after all their attempts to resolve the problems RX Helper has still not changed.
