Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Toshiba DVD player connected to my TV. It has worked perfectly but it is now spitting out my DVDs and not reading them. Is this a problem with the laser? Power is still there not when asking to read the discs, the player just pushes the discs out again. Please advise. The player is ourt of warranrty period.

Cannot read dvds. Display says incorrect disk

If the dvd player is doing this on all disks then there is something wrong with the laser assembly. Cost to repair for what it is, is prohibitive. If tv has audio video input, connect external player to that for viewing disks OR buy another combo.

Toshiba Regza 32LV67U DVD player won't play DVD. put dvd in, it makes 3 attempts to read then spits it out. Can I fix this or is this a take-it-in for service issue?

dvd player will only play movies for the COUNTRY in which you purchased it. There is no way to purchase a system or configure a system to play ALL MEDIA FOR ALL COUNTRIES. The country codes are specific and each country wants to prevent any other country from playing their dvds music, etc.

Dvd won't send picture/audio to tv

for video, 3ways and any of this should work.
Step1, video out of dvd to video in on top at video1 section on tv. or
Step2, svideo out of dvd to svideo in at video1 section on tv. or
Step3. using component video DVD unit component video out to TV unit component video in at video2 Y to Y input of TV Pb to Pb input of TV Pr to Pr input of TV
for audio, connect left/right audio of dvd to left/right input of tv. Input section of TV is in the middle. on tv back panel from left to right is antenna input, IN section - this is it, use this for all your connections. let us know if you have any issues. thanks.

DVDs are playing with green tinge

Greetings and Salutations,

If your using the component outputs from your DVD player I would first check to make sure that the cables for the Red and Blue channels are connected properly. If the cable is connected correctly then try replacing both the Red and Blue channel cable. If this fails to fix the problem try connecting to another component input on your TV if you have one available.

You might also want to check to see if you switched on the progressive scan switch on the back of the VCR/DVD unit. If you know someone with another DVD player have them bring it over and see if the problem is still exists.

If the green picture is still present then the problem is and internal problem with the TV and you will need to find a repair center for it. If the problem goes away then the problem is with the VCR/DVD combo unit. You can at this point also try using just the Video Out from the DVD player.

Hope these suggestions will help you with your problem.

Toshiba 26AV502U (new) video dropout if VHS tapeis not perfect

Had problem checked by local outfit called "Circuit Pro"; their analysis was compatibility.
Actual answer was that the Toshiba required a better quality input from "any" VHS source.
I finally took a "less than perfect" VHS tape with me when I returned the Toshiba TV to the store and demonstrated the problem to one of the TV sales people. He played the VHS tape through a display VHS/DVD player to three different brands of TV. The picture was often "black screen" on a Toshiba, but was merely poor quality on the other two brands. I upgraded to a Sony KDL26M4000 from the Toshiba 26AV502U.

Some DVDs fade in and out

If you have it hooked up through your VCR this will happen. Try hooking it directly to your TV.
