Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have two dead (power supply) PC laptops that I would like to recover some music and pictures from. What is the most economical way to do this now that I have a macbook pro?

When you put the hard drives into an USB hard drive adapter case you cannot boot up the laptops using the external USB hard drive unless the laptop's BIOS has the option to allow the USB device as a boot device.
You can plug the external USB hard drive into any PC/laptop to copy files from the USB hard drive to the PC/laptop.
The MAC cannot read or write to the external USB hard drive unless the hard drive had been formatted in FAT32. There is no way a MAC can read a NTFS formatted hard drive and it will want to format the hard drive.

try other usb port, or other computer and see whether the hdd is detected. If still not, try to go to device manager ( http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm ), and then assign a drive letter to the hdd. After that, try to access it from Computer, if not able to access it, format it (use quick format) and then use asoftech data recovery program to recover your files.

How can I recover a deleted file on my Cruzer USB stick? I don't have any security problems, I just accidentally deleted the file. Please help!

if you have choosen only delete option then you can restore it from recycle bin but in most cases the deleted files from usb drive does not go into recycle bin, rather they are pemanently deleted. if you have choosen shift+delete then there is no way that you can get the file back as shift+delete permanently deletes the files..

Have HP DV 9540 us laptop. Yhe motherboard took a dump. I can read hard drive on another computer. Can I recover my verisoft passwords for my websites?

Passwords are encryped, the chances are slim to recover except by booting the system on the hard drive and logging in. Boot in safe mode so that windows won't try installing drivers for the host system. If you try to boot in normal it is going to complain, but safe mode should let you in to recover the passwords. If you have the drive connected through USB with adaptor, use the boot options (usually F-12 on recent stuff) to boot from the usb drive.and F-8 before the Windows logo appears to get into safe mode.
Hope this does it for you.

Bent lexar secure II usb drive - how to recover data?

I would suggest using a program like data rescue: http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/index.htm
They have a trial version which you can use to at least tell you if the files are recoverable - to recover the files you will likely have to pay for the product, but at $29 it's probably worth it for your information!
