SOURCE: how to increase battery life

90 minutes of battery life is very good compared to most, unless you have the latest fueled battery. Normally a laptop can be set to turn off the wireless adapter when not in use and also the brightness level can be reduced and the processor speed can be set to low, enabling only word processing etc to be able to run at a reasonable speed.

SOURCE: Purchased new battery, now NOTEBOOK won't work on battery after full charge

Your batter may never have been broken in appropriately; Acer, in the fine print, says that to break it in, you must fully charge it, then let it drain completely 3 times! Then you can use it normally. Since most Li ion batteries work the same, this could be a general rule. My notebook tells me when it is fully charged--you don't have to guess.

SOURCE: Problem Sustaining Power on Laptop

It sounds like it might be overheating. Take some canned air and try blowing it out wherever you see vent/fan holes. Also unscrew any covers and blow out the air this way also.

SOURCE: When working on my unplugged

That sounds like the exact symptoms of a battery with dead cells. Three years is average for a battery to go dead, depending on how it was treated. The general rule is to never run a laptop on mains power with the battery plugged in.

You can shop around, and either look at a new battery or at getting your current one repacked.

Plugged in not charging issue

b4 you go to your computer, try to check first the both end of your ac power cord by using a tester (analog or digital) if their is a connectivity passing on it. if no indication then check or try to /smile the ac power current adaptor, if it smile burned then their is a particular resistor or capacitor inside was burned out and bring to your nearest electronic repair shop for a replacement of that specific electronic part.....if none of the above is the problem, your second thing to do is read the manual included of your pc and go to battery guidelines for you to check/review the features such as, maintenance, the number of charge, life span and the capability of your pc battery...then try to fully drain the power of the battery and recharge using your pc unit............P.S.,,,if your always using ac- power @ your home, just remove the battery of your PC when it's already full inorder to longer the life span and maintain the battery memory to the fullest. make it 101% drain and re-charge in the same ratio.pc @ home just

I have had a tevion mp4 player for over a year and when I turn it on the screen flashes the low battery symbol and then turns off. But I know that the battery is full power because I have had it on...

It sounds like the battery isn't holding its charge. Rechargeable batteries only have a certain life span dependent on how many times they are charged/discharged.

You should be able to get a replacement battery and change it yourself without too much effort.

My battery for canon camera 550d flashes orange when charging, its been 4 hours now and it hasnt turned green yet.. I am charging it first time.. is this normal

Okay what happens sometimes is the charger gets into a feed back loop. What to do is remove the battery unplug the charger wait a few seconds (Maybe 20/30) plug the charger back into the outlet and then put the battery back in the charger. It should start to charge again and a few minutes later go to the blinking for full charge green.

It'll happen the other way as well meaning if the battery gets a memory (they say they don't but they do) you need to unplug the battery let is sit till it's cool and put it back on charge again. I've had this problem many times and have put it on charge and back off several times with in 15 minutes before it started to charge as it should.

Also these batteries do have a life span and if it's a three year old battery with many charges it could be failing meaning it just won't take a full charge.

It will not hold a battery charge. I bought 2 new batteries and charged one fully and the camera didn't work 10 minutes and drained the battery. Is the camera dead or do I have options?

My personal opinion is that camera such as yours have a very short life span. Digital cameras are rated by how many shots it will do before it is worn out. Believe it or not camera such as yours do ware out. The two batteries you have bought is pretty expensive if compared to the cost of the camera. If you were to bring it to a repair camera shop and they are reputable they can advise you of repair versus a new camera. Good Luck

My battery backup is only 10-20 minutes only,

I think what you are asking is why does your battery only last 10 - 20 minutes.
The answer is that you need a new battery. And here's a suggestion for you: When you install a new battery, let it run completely down 3 or 4 times to get it to accept a full charge. Thereafter, let it run down once a month to give the battery maximum life. Doesn't matter what the "experts" say--just do that.
Modern batteries are not supposed to have a "memory" but I've found that it's best to exercise a little preventive care.
Also--rechargeable batteries have a limited life.

Compaq Presario v2000 notebook reduced battery life

you may try:
1) check the battery alarm at windows power managment, to set 5-10% alarm level.
2) discharge the battery to the empty then charge longer time, you need monitoring how long it charged (see charge lights change), need to change new one if charging time much less then before(less then 10-20 minutes)..
3) plug-in AC adapter monitoring charging current,
this step you need a current meter to make a series connection in the circuite, the battery is over life cycle if the current less then 500mA.

1) Do not pay attention to speed burning, in my opinion the slower the better.

2) the burner may be dusty, buy a dry dvd lens cleaner and use it.

3) try other media like Verbatiom or Teac and compare results.

4) the lifespan of any burner (depends on use) is about 18 months (my nec 7170-AD stopped working after 10 months), you may have exeded the life span of your burner, replace with new one.
