A friend gave me the printer, but I need to download the program. Where can I get a free download?

First of all, you might want to download the manual and/or user guide for the printer. You can find that here.

Then you will meed the driver. Depending on your operating system, you have to choose here.

If you want the complete driver including all features (scan, copy, print, photo software), look for something called like "Full Feature Software and Driver". It is usually the biggest download on the page (WinXP i.E. 364.59 Mb.) Don't we love that...;-)

HOW TO SCAN ON HP PSC 1315
i have a Vista system and an old hp 1315. the CD driver that came with it includes some very useful software that cannot be installed in my laptop. according to the hp website, that's because Vista comes with a compatible software for my hardware. checking Windows Help & Support gave me this solution:

Open to Windows Photo Gallery, click File then click Import from Camera or Scanner.

i did exactly that and it worked!
