SOURCE: "No Signal" when DVD player is hooked up via component video

If you are using the same cables, same input and the cable box works ok. I would look into the settings of the DVD player. Such as is it a progressive playback and is progressive turned on. It is not turned on by default because not all TV's could handle progressive in.

SOURCE: Need help hooking up TV, BluRay, Home Theatre & cable box

I found that since the Panasonic TH50PZ80U TV has only 2 HDMI ports on the back of the TV, the best solution for me was to use component (red, blue, green) cables to connect the Home Theatre to the TV. I suppose I/you could connect the home theatre to the HDMI port on the front panel, but I don't want cables hanging out the front of the TV (personal preference). Unfortunately, I am no longer able to use the VIERA Link functionality available by connecting all Panasonic components to each other using HDMI cables, but I feel it's a small price to pay for the incredible picture quality acheived by using the HDMI cable to connect the HD Cable Box to the TV. I may yet be able to control everything using the HD Cable Box remote, but I haven't gotten that far yet but I've got Comcast coming on Saturday and hopefully they can let me know if this is possible: let me know if you have a solution.

So here are the components and the cable types used to connect:

  1. HD Cable Box to TV: HDMI cable & Optical Audio cable
  2. Home Theatre to TV: Red, Blue & Green component cables
  3. BluRay Player to TV: HDMI cable
I hope this helps someone else.

Vizio tv says no signal on any of the hdmi ports

Unfortunately, you fried the HDMI controller. Not necessarily part of the power supply "main board." (Not sure which board is the HDMI controller in your specific TV. It's usually a separate board by itself). Easiest workaround is to use the "Component" cable connectors. The downside is you only get 720P. However, most cable/satellite and _all_ antenna signals are only 720P anyway. Most people only see 1080P when viewing Blu-Ray discs. Aside from replacing the HDMI controller, the cheapest workaround for multiple source connections is to buy an HDMI to Component Converter A/V box, which allows you to connect multiple devices to one box with one set of Component cables connecting to the TV. Then select various "sources" via the box.

My sanyo tv picture wont come on except when you first turn it on then it goes off, the sound works

Have you tried using a different input like a DVD or Blu-ray player with a HDMI cable? If you get the same issue using a different device and a different input then it is possible the Input board in the TV is fried, lucky all the boards in LCD/LED TV's are real easy to replace and individually are fairly cheap.

Digital noise when using ANY HDMI inputs or cables on Insignia 37" LCD TV

Most of the time it will involve replacing the entire board that connects to the HDMI and outputs associated with it--not a cheap fix and good luck finding any board for this brand set.

HDMI signal turns on and off while trying to watch tv. I've used 4 different HDMI cables still no change, but if i use a rca type cable its fine.

If you have more than one HDMI connection, have you tried using a different connection? Also, if you have another T.V. with HDMI, try connecting the device to the other T.V. and see if it works. Right now it could either be your T.V. or your device you're trying to hook up. If the device works on another T.V. then it's the T.V. that's bad, if it doesn't then it's probably the device that is bad.

HDMi ( no signal, not supported) doesn't work with Dmr-Ez47v

Any HDMI cable manufactured in the last couple of years should all be HDMI 1.1 compliant, your problem is most likely the logic board in the TV itself or the HDMI connector on the logic board has a bad connection..

Have you tried hooking-up a standard DB15 VGA cable to the AKAI TV and your laptop?

If this works your problem is in the TV and will most likely have to be repaired to receive the HDMI signal since your Panasonic DVR and your laptop are not recognized by the HDMI input on the TV.

Good luck!
