Most Laptops have a VGA output port. You would just hook this to the VGA input of the TV for video (picture). You would then need to hook an audio cable from the laptops headphone jack to the TV's VGA's Audio Input jack. Newer laptops have a HDMI output so that is easier and can hook directly to the TV's HDMI input for both video and audio.
Connecting your laptop to your TV will require a HDMI cable. Attach the cable to the HDMI ports on the latop and TV, then change the source input from your TV to HDMI and your TV will now display your laptop.
Hi Donna. Do you have an HDMI plug on your lap top? If so, then buy one and connect it to your pc and tv. Change the tv's input so it is on HDMI and change the laptops display settings to projector. (If it's windows 7) or another display setting that will display on both your TV and your lap top screens.
Depends what your TV supports. You could do vga to hdmi cable if your tv is newer, this will only do video since vga doesn't support sound. You would need a headphone jack to whatever your tv supports for sound adapter.
Hello
This model CRT tv cannot be connected directly to lap top. Laptop has VGA output and there is no VGA input to this TV. Tv has only AV sockets to connect in. You must have a VGA to Audio Video converter to be used in between TV and Laptop. This device can be bought from electronc shops. It will have a VGA input, and audio video output. You have to connect your laptop to this device using a VGA to VGA connecter, and from this devices' output, you will get audio video output, which can be connected to TV and select the TVs' input to AV. OK.
Check your ports on the lap top see if you have s video or hdmi or dvi or VGA the best is hdmi if you have that get a cable for either one of you connections also match connections from the lap top to what you have for your TV more than likely if they are both fairly new you should have hdmi connections for both get a cable that is long enough. I get my cables at amazon.com their prices are the bomb.
Connect them together both ends to lap top and to tv then make sure that you have a line in jack stereo jack with RCA ends hook that to the back of your tv and your lap top in stereo jack even better to your surround sound system. Set your TV to AVI 1 or 2 or DVI or whichever is your connection start a movie on the lap top and turn your sound on and see if you have a picture on your screen you should have the same thing as what is showing on your monitor on your lap top. Adjust settings and have fun!
Sounds like you are using an S-Video out, unless you have the Dell dongle to also split out the audio, you'll have to out the audio via the headphone jack
Using the buttons on the TV, go to the setup menu, and scroll to "edit channels" by pressing "setup" button until "edit channels" is highlighted. Then, using the channel up/down buttons, go to channel 91 and press + volume. This should add the video input to your channels. 92 is S-video. It is helpful to have what ever device (dvd player or game console) hooked up and powered on, so you know when you are on the right channel, but it should be 91.
