If you give the wep key in the router or modem or the access point then you give the wep key in that if not there direct connect it and you can check also where its give the password or not just go to the right click on the wireless icon in the taskbar then go to the view available the network in that your wireless ssid shows just click it in that you show the lock symbol then your network in the password its wirten that unsecure networks then you direct connect it

Hi,

You cannot install this adapter in a Win 7 computer because the drivers are not compatible with Win 7.
So far Belkin haven't updated the drivers for win 7 OS. The latest drivers for this adapter is compatible only with

" Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP 32-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit "

Click here to see the belkin compatible drivers in the website.

Can't get the d-link adapter to work on wireless windows xp comp desktop when the internet comes on it bumps me off

1. Might it be that a security configuration setting in you router is preventing you from connecting to the internet?
Check the WEP or WPA settings; the set type of network (B, G or both), MAC address filters, etc.)

2. Download the most updated driver for you adapter from D-Link support pages. The last service pack for Windows XP (SP3) turned some adapters (DLink models too ) unable to connect to internet. The driver update will solve the proble

What operating system are you using, Win XP?
Go to the control panel - look at Network Connection, click on properties on your USB adapter, click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), then Properties, make sure Obtain an IP address automatically is selected.
Also make sure your USB adapter settings (SSID, WEP/WAP etc) matches your Access Point settings.

My usb adapter (2wire 802.11g usb wireless adpter) is having problems.

you cant change the wep key on the upstairs pc unless you change it on the 2wire 1st. the pc wep key has to match whatever the 2wire has it set to. go to the 2wire router settings throught the downstairs pc that is working to be able to see what the wep key is set to, then when you get the key or set a new one enter that key into the upstairs pc.

You can find the WEP code in your setting on your router. Just get into your bios on your router and find the wireless WEP code you will see it is a 26 digit code just type that into any other computer on that router and make sure workgroup is the same too. Once you put the 26 digit code in you should be online now, Hope that helps Let Me Know Thanks Bear001 If you need more help write back here.

Wireless ADSL setup for WIN ME

Hi, I am assuming that you have installed the necessary USB drivers for the LINKSYS Wireless G in your ME machine and that you can ping your router from the same desktop. Based on your post/description "...The connection to the router is there but I can not connect to the internet...." would indicate that your Win ME desktop is not configured to use the wireless router as the default internet gateway. Rather than "Obtain IP add automatically" in your ME, try manually configure and to "Use the following IP address". Follow and use the numbers of your laptop's wifi connection except for the IP add. Simply add 1 to the last digit. For example if your laptop's wifi IP add is 192.168.100, make the ME 192.168.1.101. All the other numbers should be the same (SubNet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS) To be able to get the laptop's numbers, open a command prompt and type "ipconfig /all". It is also possible that security settings (WEP, WPA or MAC filter) are not working right with the ME machine, try turning them off in your router to test. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
