On most Android tablets, you simply press and hold the icon until the screen changes modes (to arrange). Then you should see an option to delete/remove at the top of the screen. Just drag the icon to the top of the screen and it should leave the home screen.

I am not sure about your phone brand and model; however, if it is an Android Phone, everything on the screen can be shifted around, removed or place new icons on the screen.

All you need to do is tap on an icon and hold it for a while. It will change colour and depending on your phone and settings, a short vibration. You can now drag it to where you want and drop it there. You can also move icons from one page to another by dragging it to the edge and hover around there - the screen will slide to the next page. you can drop the icon in the new page.

To remove, once you select an icon, e red bar, remove, of similar indicator will appear on the top part of your screen. drag the icon there and drop it.

Removal could vary depending on the phone you are using and the version of android you have, and which screen the icons are on.

If the icons have been added to the home screen, on my S4 just press and hold the icon that you want to remove (just a couple of seconds), then drag the icon to the bin at the top of the screen.

If you want to prevent icons being added to the home screen when you install new apps, goto the google play store on your phone, and click on 'Play Store' at the top of the screen. Then goto 'Settings' and untick 'Add icon to Home screen'. Any new installs will be in you applications folder but will not be added to the home screen.

press and hold down the icon until you see it shaking and an x next to it then press the x and delete.

Bear in mind that not all icons can be removed from the home screen.

You may have accidently put an app icon to home scree. You can delete it by press and holding the icon. A trash icon will appear at the buttom of the screen. Drag the icon to the rash icon and you are done.
It wont delete anything. It will just remove the icon from home screen.
Also, to add any other icon on the home screen, go to menu, press and hold the desired app icon and it will be on the home screen.
