I have an Intermatic E1600 Digital Wall Timer and I cannot remember how to reset it to an earlier time...and I have misplaced the instruction manual. Any help you can give me is appreciated! Steve

You probably have Intermatic Ei600 which is 5-year warranty timer that uses CR2 battery, and has same programming steps as lighter-weight Intermatic ST01C timer.
Open following links to identify timer, read ez set instructions, and download manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Intermatic-ei600c-manual.pdf
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html

The timing programs for Ei600 and ST01C timers remain in memory indefinitely even if battery goes dead. If you re-program current time and date, the original programs are still there.
If timer stopped functioning, then replace battery. Usually with battery replacement, the timer must be re-set which clears all programming.

We've lost the instruction manual for our light switch timer so don't know how to reprogram it. Directions, please!! We've just replaced the battery. What buttons do we press in what order to...

Question posted under Intermatic timer:
Open following link to identify timer and download possible manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html

IF Intermatic timer stopped working because battery failed, then all that's needed is to reprogram current time, because the original timer programs you set are stored inside timer forever until timer is manually reset using reset button.

If you have Intermatic ST01C timer, then open following page for ez instructions:
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html

If you need help programming specific timer, then get as far along in manual as possible, and then add a comment.

If you have different brand timer, than each brand has link that shows on Intermatic page.

Bought a Utilitech #0192773 to replace an older and non-working Intermatic SS7 series. The Intermatic had a black wire connected to hot, and a blue wire connected to neutral, and a red wire was capped off...

Utilitec 0192773 replaces single-pole switch and will not work for 3-way applications.

Open following link for clear wiring and programming steps for Utilitec 0192773
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

Utilitec can also be tricky to program if you are setting up astro dawn-dusk function.

For others finding this thread, same wiring applies to in-wall programmable timers by GE, Woods, Swilight, Sylvania, Tork, Hagar, UPM, Leviton, Grasslin, Wattstopper, Westek, and Intermatic analog timers. Intermatic battery-operated, Brinks and Aube timers are wired differently since they also work for 3-way applications.

I need to find instructions on how to reprogram an Intermatic indoor wall timer.

You posted under ST01C Intermatic battery operated timer.
If you have different timer, then add a comment.

Let's review ST01C timer for a moment.
Programming will stay inside timer memory indefinitely until timer no longer works.
Even if battery is removed, programs remain. Current time setting does not remain in memory.
If battery goes dead, then current time will disappear, but programs remain forever.

If previous programming was correct, you might only need to set current time,.
In that case, you do not want to 'reset' timer and clear memory.

If you want to clear old programming entirely, then you can 'reset' timer using following instructions.
Press and hold on-off button, and then use paper clip to push in reset button for 3 seconds.
Release reset button but keep holding on-off button until INIT displays momentarily.
Release on-off button.
If display does not show, then timer battery is bad, or timer is bad.

For instructions how to set current time, click link below.
In addition to current time, the link has ST01C manual and also has EZ to follow instructions and photos for setting on-off times (but not astro times)
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html

Instructions are different for astro dawn to dusk.
Add a comment at any time if you need free help with specific steps in the manual.

If you do not want to read the manual or open a link and read the steps or add a comment for further free help, then you can pay a fixya expert for phone support and that person will walk you through the steps while on the phone.
Keep in mind that ST01C timer has 1 year limited warranty, and your timer might be broken.
In that case you should try the free steps first.

Intermatic Timer HB88RC unable to program it following instructions. Will not turn on in Automatic mode. Works fine in manual On mode.

HB88RC manual online:
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/hb88rc%20-%20english.ashx

These timers are frustrating sometimes, fortunately this timer can be unplugged to set programs under good lighting.
When I have problems, I set it down for a while and then go back to it later.
Right now I own 25-30 different Intermatic, Woods, GE, Utilitec timers for testing and programming difficulties. Each one offers different points that are confusing.

Some new timers are simply defective. One guy today had 2 defective Woods timers, which made me suspect electric line needs line analysis. You might try your timer in another plug, for example indoor plug in another part of house to double check line is not interfering with timer electronics.

Reading HB88RC manual, there is not Dusk-dawn option, and programming steps are pretty straightforward compared with other timers.
This leads me to believe there is some small thing missed or line is bad, or timer is defective.
Return it if it's defective.

Here are some trip-up points, and they may not apply to you.

1) Current day has to be set. Hold clock button down while setting current time.

2) When programming, each event requires ON time and OFF time. For example event1 ON has to be set and then event1 OFF has to be set. Then set event2 ON and then event2 OFF.

3) When programming, check screen carefully to make sure 1ON appears, and then 1OFF appears in screen exactly like Fig1 and Fig3 shows.

Now I frequently e-mail Intermatic asking for manual clarification, and they e-mail back ... sometimes their manuals are a little bit off here and there. But this manual looks clean and matches what I see in other timers.

4) Each ON time requires OFF time for same choice of days. For example ON 7pm Tuesday and OFF 9pm All-days-of-week will not work correctly.

5) ON 7pm Tuesday and OFF 7pm Tuesday will not work.

6) Conflicts in programming cause some timers to skip programming: For example event1 says ON
at 7 pm Tuesday and OFF 9pm Tuesday, but event2 says opposite.

7) Since manual override works correctly, we know Load is functioning, and we know plugs on timer are working. Timer load can be lighting or pumps or heaters, but manual does not specifically say florescent. So timer MIGHT not work for compact florescent bulbs. If you have CFL bulb, try another type of Load: for example incandescent table lamp.

And that's everything I know, like Bubba Gump shrimp.

How do I set the on time for the timer and the off time? I want to set this for all days at once?

You posted under ST01C timer.

If you have different timer, add a comment.

Intermatic battery-operated timers are finicky.

Intermatic has a EZ programming guide:
If you are having a problem. Use paper clip and push-in round reset button while holding down ON-OFF button. This will clear all programs that could be in the way.

I have digital programmable timers (Model DT121 and Model DT11) that will accept programs, but won't turn the attached lamps on and off at the programed times. The batterys are new and I've had them...

DT121 Manual
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/dt121c%20-%20english.ashx

All Intermatic manuals
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/instruction%20manuals.aspx

Intermatic does not show DT11
Intermatic shows the DT121 is no longer available

If the display shows and you can set programs, then the battery is good.
Does the manual override work? This indicates whether the timer on-off switch operates.
If manual override does not work, then I discovered that timers are no longer any good

Programming:
Set present time
Then set ON time for program 1
Set OFF time for program 1
Then set ON time for program 2
Set OFF time for program 2
Most timers will not function if there is a conflict in programming > for example Program 1 says ON at 6 and OFF at 7 and Program 2 says opposite or has overlapping times
When events are set, press SET once > this will put timer in RUN mode

If manual override works, and you set programming correctly, but timer does not carry out instructions, I guess the timer is no good.

Intermatic has 24 hour timers with 2 on-off per day
http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20indoor%20timers/lamp%20%20appliance%20timers.aspx
Intermatic has 7-day digital timers (all digital timers today are 7 day where you select the day that each program works)
