Question about ASUS G1S-A1 Notebook
Hi, I have a 6month old Toshib Equium L40-156 laptop running Vista Home Premium. Whenever I shut the laptop down without the AC cable connected (just running on the battery) everything shuts down fine however, when I try shutting vista down while on AC power, the laptop shuts down correctly and the power light goes off but after apprx 3 seconds the power light comes back on and the laptop starts up again.
I tried installing SP1 to see if that would fix the problems but it has not. I have also check the power button commands and all are set to shut down the laptop. In addition, I have also unchecked the automatic restart option in the 'Startup & Recovery' section but nothing has workied.
Thanks in advance.
Dave I have the exact same issue, runnning Vista 32bit. I tried messing with the BIOS and power management settings, but nothing has worked. I had a power surge before this problem began so that may explain things, but I have no way to verify if it is a hard or software issue.
I have the same problem with my Toshiba too, prima facie, it looks like Toshiba and Vista don't make a good combo. I suspected this to be a pure hardware problem, but was disproven when I booted in safe mode. It does not have any problems with the AC Power on in Safe mode.
