Question about Canon CanoScan FS4000US Film Scanner

1 Answer

Hello my father got a Canon slide scanner/converter for Christmas, and I am trying to help him with a problem he is having. He says that when he saves the picture (after scanning) to the computer, a black line appears across the pic, but when he's viewing it, before its saved there isn't one there...it might be that when he's printing it out, the line shows up. I have researched everywhere and cannont figure this out, so i would appreciate any infomation you could give me.

You might have to troubleshoot, this will help the scanner reset, and get rid of the black line

Scanning 35mm Slides - getting a pink hue when loaded into Picasa

The whitest white there is is the reflective white on the underside of a scanner tray. Get 2-4 pages of regular office paper and put them between your slides and the scanner lid. That should at least be better. If still not acceptable, try a flat (as in matte, not two-dimensional), white piece of thin cardboard instead of the paper.
Try it and you'll see where I'm going. Does your printer/scanner come with any photo adjustment features in its software?

Canon image runner2200 error e000202-0001

Hello,
this is error related to scanner section. The home position sensor of scanner ( copy lamp ) doesn't go of when the lamp is in home position.

You can try to manualy, few times slide the scanner rail to right and left side - BEFORE TURN THE POWER OFF AND UNPLUG THE COPIER FROM OUTLET.

If the sensor if really faulty you need to replace him.

Call service!

Any help??? import Canon videos to ipad...

You need to convert the video format, and then the video will be transferred to iPad.
only H.264 / MPEG-4 encoding video in FLV format is compatible with iPad. So convert FLV to iPad is so necessary.
Video Download Studio can help you with this very well.
Get a free trial from http://www.downloadvideos-convert.com/download-videos-music
Hope it can help you more or less!

We have boxes of old slides that are not 35mm I would like to convert to digital. Will the small digital slide/negative scanners accomodate them? If I remember correctly, they were smaller than the common...

Hello. yes, you can convert them to digital. Take one of the slides along to the photo store when you shop for a scanner. Also, there are adapters to accommodate your very situation. just ask at the photo store. Regards, Joe

Is there a manual that shows how to scan slides

Hello,

Here is the support site for your scanner:

Canon LiDE 600F Support

Under the Drivers & Downloads there are a couple manuals. The Quick Start Guide, which is a PDF file and the On Screen manual which is an exe file. The PDF will open right up. The other you will need to download the file to your desktop and when the download completes you need to run (double-click) the file to install it.

Note: This scanner does not support scanning of Mounted slides. (See Footnote #5 on Page 9 of the Quick Start Guide.)

You may be able to unmount the slides carefully and follow the instructions for scanning film. You might try that on a less desirable slide before unmounting them all. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Cannon 4400F Scanner

I had the same problem with about 1 out of every 16 slides when I first got the scanner. The only way I found around it was to rearrange the slides and try again. I started scanning through the ScanGear software instead of Canon Toolbox, and haven't had that problem since. I've scanned about 6,000 slides and negatives so far.

I have a Canon Pixma MP530 all in one printer, scanner, copier. I would like to know if I could scan 35mm color slides on the flatbed scanner on this machine into my computer. I have a number of slides...

Hello csj4

The Pixma series of scanners isn't going to be able to do this for you. This level of functionality is offered in higher end flat bed scanners that will have attachments you can use for scanning in slides.

HP has some scanners that will do this. I haven't checked w/ Canon but they may have them as well. If you'd like assistance w/ finding a scanner that will do this for you, just let us know.

You may also want to consider using a service to place the slides in digital format for you, too. If you aren't making slides anymore and you don't need a high end scanner for any other reason, that may be a more cost-effective way to go.

If you have ANY other questions, etc on this topic, just post back here w/ them. We'll be happy to continue to assist you.

If I answered your questions and you have no other questions or need of our assistance on this topic...

...would you kindly take just a moment to close the problem by assigning a FIXYA rating for my "solution"? I would be very grateful for your generosity and show of appreciation.

Thank you once again for using FixYa! Have a beautiful day.

Canon A460; Downloading pics to computer

I have the exact same camera and all I did to put my photos on the computer was plug my camera into the computer using the USB cable provided. A wizard window should pop up and click on import photos. If that doesn't work, then I'm not sure what to do. I have windows Vista, by the way.
