Question about GE Optical Mini Mouse ho98094
It is really hard to get the case open to change the batteries on this model! You need one hand to hold the clicker portion and bottom, while your thumb and three fingers slide the cover to the rear to open.
First, pop open the USB plug holder on the top of the mouse by sliding it to the rear in the direction of the arrow (raised dots).
Next, note the little raised ribs on the sides of the mouse --- they are on the section of the cover that houses the batteries. These ribs seem to be for giving traction when sliding this cover backwards, but squeeze IN on them doesn't help.
Simutaneously, push DOWN firmly on the TOP of the cover on both sides of the USB holder, while pushing at the raised ribs on the sides with your thumb and your 'ring' finger. The cover slides BACKWARDS. It takes a lot of firm pushing!
I've found that often the batteries are still good, but the mouse is dead. Just opening and closing the cover somehow resets the connections of batteries and they will continue to work.

If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open
on the bottom, then try this. Just behind the Left and Right keys where
your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the
rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace
Hope this helps. Bud
