Question about Panasonic TCP50S30 VIERA S30 Series 50 inch Plasma 1080p HDTV

Open Question

Panasonic Plasma TV TCPS0S30 red and some times blue colors "flicker" very obvious. Tv 14 months old. Rest to factory defaults from custom set-up (paid for) , whats up home fix or to the shop.?

Red color flickers always and some time blue flicker is also evident. Had a custom set-up that I paid for with analysis and final tune. TV is about 14 months old and out of warranty. Is this a possible home fix or to the shop. I rest to factory settings then reloaded the custom recorded settings. did a download of software updates. Problem remains. Thanks DGM

SOURCE: Parallel vertical lines through left side of Panasonic Plasma tv

This sounds like one of the driver boards at the bottom or top of the screen has an intermittent fault. The set will have to be taken in to a service centre.

SOURCE: Blue screen

Are you using component video cables? If so, check that these aren't loose on either end. Next I'd consider that whatever video cable/input might be bad, and switch cable or cable type... i.e. switch from component to HDMI or vice-versa. Then change up the source (cable box versus DVD player). If you're still seeing blue at this point, the TV internals are the bad.

We had the same problem with a different model plasma tv. My wife tried unplugging the tv for a minute or two, but we still had the same problem. I unplugged the tv and left it unplugged for over 8 hours, then plugged it back in and the problem was fixed.

hi look for any swollen capacitors, also plasma's do suffer from poor solder joints on the power board, so check for any rings around the solder pads, test the voltages on the white connectors with a meter the voltages will be written along the connector, thanks

I had the exact same problem. Thought it was the tv, but it was the cable between my cable box and the tv. Try unplugging the cords and plugging them back in, color was restored.

Too much green color

Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.

Try checking the cable making sure they are tightly plugged in. My dads Plasma screen started showing orange / brown colors in place of primary red... he had been moving things around and didnt realize the wires were loosened in the process. This made him realize.... GET an HDMI and get rid of all the other cables......
