A straight column of black dots about two inches apart and about two inches from the right edge of the paper appears on every paper printed.

Depending on what the lines look like it could be the charge roller or transfer roller.
A defect on the charge roll appears as black areas on the front of the test page, and as light gray areas on the test page.
A defect on the PC drum of the toner cartridge appears as white areas on a dark, full–coverage test print and as black areas on the "text only" test page.
I have also seen a line with a 'ridge' on the paper. This will appear almost like an embossed line. This was caused by the fuser roller being scored by debris.

When making copies af a document a black line is showing on the bottom of the copied page. How can we fix it.

Clean the document laying flat glass with micro fiber cloth.

Pull out the toner/drum assrmbly and clean the drum with same cloth. Turn the drum using black circular dial on the side and clean it. Do not touch the drum. Also, change the toner cartridge if you have not for long time. This mostly happens when the cartridge is about to run out of toner ink powder.

hope this helps.

We have a Lexmark T630 and are experencing a black line on the right side of the copy from top to bottom. This started as soon as we replaced the old toner cartridge with a new one. What can be down to...

try testing with the old cartridge if possible. If not i still would replace the cartridge. any time a problem arises after a cartridge replacement it is normally the cartridge

Copy and faxes come out with a black line on the left side about an inch from the side.

If your INCOMING faxes have the same black line as your copies then the problem lies in the toner cartridge. A line on OUTGOING faxes and copies would suggest something on the scanner glass. This is a small strip of glass under the cover where your originals are fed into. Another way of testing is to run a report from the operation panel. If a report generated from the machine is ok then it is the scanner glass. If the report has a line then it is in the toner cartridge.
Good Luck

Changed the toner now I am getting black copies?

It's important to gently shake toner cartridge from side to side to distribute the toner. It's also important to clean the corona wire (by sliding the tab from side to side) and the drum each time you change the toner cartridge. You should remove the toner cartridge (be careful, it can be messy), clean the corona wire and drum and your copies should return to normal.

Before you installed the cartridge was it in the box standing on end, If so remove the cartridge from the printer and gently shake the cartrige from side to side then reinstall, the toner may be packed mostly on the one side.

Black dusty line on my copies

You mentioned when you copy.
If you just have it print with out doig a copy (like have it print an internal report or what ever) does it do the same thing?
If it does (and I'm assuming that this is a laser printer) change the toner cartridge.
If it doesn't, then there is something on the glass area that is causing the streak. Clean the glass with vinegar and water solution (not sopping wet, just damp on the rag) and dry. Test again.

Copies and faxes come out with 5 inch black area over whole page

Does this same thing happen if you just print a report out of it?

Here's the logic behind this.

If it happens on scanning or copying, but not on printing that's a problem with the scanning section.

If it happens on everything (scanning, printing etc) that's a problem with in the printer controls.

Usually on lasers, if it's printing related, the first thing to do is change the toner.
If the imaging drum (which is part of the toner cartridge) is damaged, it will leave lines down the page.
This is a fairly common problem on refilled toners.

If you have changed the toner, and it still does it, it's a different problem.
