You're stating there is a SATA port on the mobo, where the VGA port should be? Isn't puzzling to me; 1) There are NO SATA ports in the I/O area. (Input/Output) You are looking at a green Serial port. There is NO OnBoard video. You have to use a graphics card.

yeh i have found out i need a graphics card but i have got a sata on the back where the graphics should be it has the name above it m8 and it is red

\'I see said the blind man\', hmmmm. The SATA connectors on the motherboard are RED. All 4 of them. My guess is that if there is a Red SATA port in the I/O area, it is Red to suggest (TO ME) that it is connected to the Nvidia 570 SLI chipset, and that SATA port operates Up To 3Gigabits per Second. (3Gb/s, or also can be stated as 3Gbits/s) Which is misnomered as SATA 3. Which you can see is incorrect. SATA 2 is 3Gb/s, SATA 3 is 6Gb/s. Scroll down to the closeup of the I/O area. The 6th photo down. Where is it in relation to the other ports? Just curious is all. Learn something new everyday, M8. (Took a second for this \'Yankee\' to determine what that was, lol!)

ONE; Forgot my manners Blobby2560; Thank you for the rating! TWO: Forget you Fixya parser. I typed 'Yan-kee'. (M8 = Mate)

Asus P5NSLI mobo?

Supposed to have two expansion slots for PCI Express graphics cards.

If the Blue one is used ONLY, it is PCI Express X16

When two -> SLI-Ready <- PCI Express cards are plugged into the Black PCI Express slot, and the Blue PCI Express slot; the Black PCI Express slot operates at x8.

PCI Express x8

The Blue PCI Express slot does also. PCI Express x8.

Motherboard User's Manual download page,

Scroll the page down using the Right side bar; then scroll down the inner scroll bar to the English version of the manual,

After you click on Global it may take up to 30 seconds, before the first page comes up.

Hover your mouse cursor at the bottom/middle, and the ghosted out navigation guide will appear.
Go all the way to the right, and click on the Adobe PDF icon.
When you hover your mouse cursor over it, Show Adobe Reader toolbar, will briefly appear.

So you're stating that one of the PCI Express slots are gone?
Just solder blobs where it should be?

Both PCI Express expansion slots are gone?

There are still the white PCI expansion slots. Not ANYWHERE as good, but any of them can be used for a PCI graphics card.

Not sure what is a sater, but the board has a built in video chip and a PCI-E x16 slot (blue slot) for an expansion video board.

I have an asus pn5sli mobo with 8 gig ram, nvidia 9800gt gpu, running windows 7 and am having crash issues.can you update bios using a usb as I have no 1.44 floppy installed and can you increase ram voltage...

Hello download your files here:

Download asus update in the utility for 64 bit system
Next download the latest bios
Please unzip the files before you install.

Install asus update and select update bios from file.
This can be done while the system is running.
Select the bios file you have downloaded
and the program does the rest.

Remember to download the right bios.Flashing the bios with a wrong file will damage the mainboard !!!!!!!!!!!!
And you need to set up bios when the job is done (the boot sequence)

Good luck

My desktop board is P5NSLI, suddenly when i'm working with it, a lightning splash because its raining, i turned off my computer 'cause i'm worried if what may happened, after the rain i get back to work...

This may have been due to power surge. Try replacing the power supply. Also, inspect the motherboard and other components for any physical damage. Motherboard may get damaged due to power fluctuations, which requires replacement.

How do i clear the cmos on my asus p5nsli

just to clarify, to clear your BIOS, there should be a 3 pin set on your board usually located some where just below your RAM. On the board will be printed something like "CLR" or "CLEAR" move the pin connector, with the power off, from its current position to the middle pin and the open pin. Wait about 15 to 20 seconds and move the connector back to the original position. You have just reset your bios to factory defaults.

No video on monitor ?

Try testing the hardware connections. Often it's as simple as a backwards IDE cable for the hard drives/cdroms, but if that isn't the case, start from nothing. Remove one of the two RAM sticks and all devices, (drives, CD-roms, anything that isn't needed to boot)
Let me know what this turns up.

check for faulty RCA wire or Stereo jack, If you get that buzzing sounds 95% of the time its a faulty rca wire or 3.5" stereo jack hop this works
