First - I have been billed for two renewals.

#1 - 2097965663
#2 - 2097955776 both dated 1/11/09. I started one, got interrupted, and that is how it occurred.
Also, the Norton 360 screen has remained up since yesterday, giving commercial messages, plus showing at the bottom "uninstalling Norton Internet Security (Symantex Corporation).
Both the installations were priced at $59.95.

Turn off Norton Automatic Renewal service
  1. Go to Norton Management to cancel the Norton Automatic Renewal service.
  2. Click Sign In.
  3. Sign in to Norton with your email address and password.
  4. Under Automatic Renewal, next to the Norton product for which you want to cancel Automatic Renewal, click Off.

I want to cancel my norton


When you sign up for Norton, Symantec puts you in their 'Automatic Renewal service', every year they'll bill you to use their anti-virus product.

You should call customer support @ 1-800-745-6034 and ask for a refund if you no longer want to use the product.

If you want to continue using the product, but just disable the auto-renewal service:

1. Sign into you Norton Account :

3. Click Off
4. You'll get a prompt, then click Confirm 'Turn Off''

I have a Norton account with automatic renewal. It is on automatic renewal with a renewal date of April 15. My PC was recently serviced and the repair form replaced Norton with McAfee. I was happy...

use the account information you used to create the account. Once in there you can uncheck the product in the auto renewal feature.

I woudl also suggest telling the repair person they should be more informed. McAfee is not as good as norton in anyway. You also do not need to buy a new PC to get norton you can get it from a store as well.

I would also suggestyou lookign in to Avast! or AVG virus scan. They work better and use less computer resources (memory, cpu time, etc) than both norton and mcafee.

I am sorry but I cannot see how this site can possibly help you resolve a billing issue with Symantec. Nor can I see any possible reason why they would have referred you to a third party. You need to take this up with Symantec.

Email Norton and tell them your situation, they will tell you what to do to fix the problem seems like a problem that's more there doing than yours.
Or
  1. Start your Norton product.
  2. Do one of the following depending on your Norton product:
    • For Norton 360: Click My Account, and in the My Account window, click Renew Subscription.
    • For Norton 2009 products: At the top right corner of the window, click Help & Support > Subscription Status. Skip to Step 6.
    • For Norton 2008 products: In the bottom-left corner, click Subscription.
    • For Norton 2007 products: On the product tab, click Support, and then click Subscription.
    • For Norton 2006 products: On the Help & Support menu, click Subscription.
  3. Click I have already purchased a subscription, check my subscription status.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Next.
    Your Norton product checks your subscription status. This could take a minute or two.
  6. Read the information in the Status check panel, and then click Finish.
    Your subscription expiration date should now be correct.

I cannot tell if my norton security system is operational, because there is confusion about the subscritption renewal


go to your online norton account and check the renewal date.

if the norton tray icon is green, it's active. if red, or black, it may not be. also, when the norton runs out, the windows warning will come up saying the system may not be protected due to no anti-virus.

note: there are many free a/v and anti-spyware programs available so you need not pay for anything. www.downloads.com

My computer keeps telling me my Norton AntiVirus cover is out of date. This was renewed on Friday 4 April. Order No. 1847546580. Password: tinker. Please confirm


You need to update this order number into Norton Antivirus. Additionally NAV may actually need to be reinstalled. Symantec should be able to talk you through any issues with your resubscription process, as you haven't been specific enough with what you have done on with your client software during the renewal fo your subscription.
