Keyboard

Hi, "I suggest that you try reconfiguring the way the Keyboard functions. Click on the Start button, in the [Start Search Window] type: keyboards; the "Keyboard" will appear in the shortcut menu. Next, select to open, make all the changes to your specifications, "Apply and OK" all changes. After you are finished, Restart the Computer. If this helped; let me know by giving a "helpful rating," thanks.

Some keys on my laptop dont work

Trying a desktop keyboard is useful for determining if it is a keyboard problem or a software problem. This usualy happens if some liquid has gotten into the keyboard, but you said thats not possible. Try to boot into bios, the first screen that pops up when you boot, on a toshiba it is usually pressing F1 or Del. then if your Arrow keys don't work there, you need a new keyboard.

Im using vista as my os. and my laptop is hp pavilion, both my control keys are not working. what should i do?

You might have changed settings of stickey keys

Check the setting in start- control panel- ease of access center- make keyboard easier to use.

Go to sticky keys -uncheck the box.

Also check the other settings in it.

It will resolve your issue.

If yes.. if not..you might need to remove the keyboard driver from device manager.

Some keys on my keyboard dont work

The keys may have dirt and debris beneath them or could be damaged.

Go to Start, select Control Panel and then type keyboard in the search box on the upper right side. A new window will open; click on Keyboard and select either option from the menu to verify the functionality of your keyboard...

My keyboard is slow. Everything else, programs, etc, works just fine. Is there a driver I can install to fix it?

What do u mean by keyboard is slow?? Is it typing slow or the buttons dont respond.
Did u try different applications like notepad, word, emails, is it same everywhere??
If possible try using a usb keyboard and check its performance.

STICKEY KEYS!

heres the quick version:

hold down both shift keys, it should either disable it or pop up a message to disable it, hit escape, not cancel...

control panel, accessibility options, keyboard, click settings near filterkeys, uncheck use shortcut, click ok.. check the boxes for use filter toggle and stickey keys, hit applyuncheck them all and hit apply again... if this doesnt fix it, read on..

create a blank text file on your desktop named disable.reg or something similar, and paste the portion between the --------'s into it:

----------
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Accessibility]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Accessibility\Blind Access]
"On"="0"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Accessibility\HighContrast]
"Flags"="122"
"High Contrast Scheme"="High Contrast Black (large)"
"Volital HC Scheme"="High Contrast Black (large)"

make sure not to paste the ------'s.. anytime it enables itself, just doubleclick the file, it should disable it for you.
