LCD Panel All of the words have "gone away" on the front LCD panel. Is there a replacement part available or do I work strictly from the Owner's Manual for instructions, settings, etc.?

If fuse blown error shows, fuse (1.6mamp) if it replaced to (0.5 amp) then it works.

change the fuse with (0.5 amp).
If it doesn't work try this:
From Samsung site:

1 Press MENU # 1 9 3 4 in sequence rapidly. The LCD panel should now display TECH.
2 Press MENU, and then press ENTER. The LCD panel will display Tech Mode.
3 Press the left arrow (4 Press ENTER. The operator panel will display [YES].
5 Press ENTER. The toner warning message should be gone.
6 To exit TECH MODE, press MENU # 1 9 3 4 in rapid succession, as if you were dialing a phone number. The operator panel should no longer display TECH.

Then you don't need to use fuse after that.....

Xerox 8550DP error message (16.4)

Even if your printer's front control panel display has not gone bad yet, it could only be a matter of time.

If your printer has never had its control panel display replaced, you can get a free replacement from Xerox, even if the printer is out of warranty. Just call 877-571-7765 with the serial number of your printer.

I think this is due to a known defect from the factory for many of these panels having a bad soder weld which eventually causes issues with the panel, even if not apparent at first. That was the case I had. Just one day out of the blue my panel went blank, some days its lit with no display others the display is upside down or reading gibberish other times it seems to work fine. I tried looking for a bad soder myself but couldn't find it then later found out there was a soder issue via another post on this site and they will replace this panel free of charge.

Buttons on the front panel of the L7780 won't work. Printer - prints; Scanner - scans but I cannot access the menus or setup on the panel. Cannot copy. Ideas ???

see iot might be a problem with beezel the cove for the buttons in the front panel >> disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer >> press and hold the power button for 20 seconds >> reconnect the power cable back to the printer and power it onn >> take out the beezel from the printer and try to use the pads and check whether its working or not >> if not then the front panel has gone bad if yes then the beezel needs to be replaced

FRONT PANEL DISPLAY BEGAN FADING AND THEN DISAPPEARED. PRINTER IS WORKING, BUT NOTHING ON THE PANEL TO INDICATE WHERE AND WHAT.

I would say that the panel has failed. It's an LCD and they can go bad. I would contact the manufacturer. It MIGHT be a repairable problem. These days, printers are mostly throw-away and many companies that used to fix them can't even get parts any more!

Replacing front LCD panel

Looks easy to replace boy did you pick the wrong model, I've done this job, what a pain of a design, you just want to get to those four screws that hold that operations panel in, heres what needs to be done first, remove left rear corner covers(2) and disconnect wires cables that go to Doc feeder and scanner(27millon), unscrew and remove doc feeder, now you can take out scanner top with glass, from base to reveal screws for operations panel. flow chart below .. and dont order that part it is the LCD display only - you want number depends on country but i think the states is .LE8846001 , PANEL UNIT, MFC8840D FOR ASA/OCE not LG4383001 LCD

And dont swear when doing job remember your a qualified engineer!! have fun,
1
AC CORD
1
DRUM UNIT
2
PAPER TRAY
3
DX FEED ASSY(duplex)
(MFC-8840D/8840DN, DCP-8045D/
4
6
(3.5 (1) and (2) are contained.
DRIVER PCB ACCESS COVER
5
ACCESS COVER/BATTERY
7
ADF UNIT
9
PANEL UNIT
8
DOCUMENT SCANNER

p.s. the switch itself is a lot of the time ok it is the plastic arm part that breaks..
