The F6 error code for this model indicates a drive motor tachometer error. The control board is unable to properly detect the motor speed. If you have a volt/ohm meter I can give you a few checks that will help you diagnose the problem. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

You will need to gain access to the MCU (Motor Control Unit), and ohm the motor windings and the tachometer (see images below). The image that shows the MCU connection should be as it is in your washer, there should be 5 black wires and 1 green wire. The black wires are as follows, pin 1 on top and pin 5 on the bottom (see image). Set your meter to read resistance and check pin 1 to pin 2, pin 1 to pin 3, and pin 2 to pin 3, these should all read approximately 6 ohms. Next check pin 4 to pin 5, it should read approximately 115 to 125 ohms. If any of these readings are not very close to the values I have given you, check continuity on the wires from the MCU to the drive motor. If the wires check good, the drive motor is bad and will need to be replaced. If all readings are close to the values I gave and there is not an issue with the wires the MCU will need to be replaced.

Here is the MCU to order if you should find it bad.

Here is the motor to order if you need it.

Keep me posted.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet: gray plastic agitator poece inside drum broke off

here's the part number for the replacement 8182233, thinking it may come as a 3 pack , if they're not broken no need to replace. but the new one will simply slide in and with a click forward lock into place. they also come shipped with a screw to secure. in order to install screw you'll need to remove the top of the washer(3 screws across the back of the top assy and slides back and off. then you'll see the top of the tub area, a small black hose will run from the white box to the left to directly top of the tub assy. remove ethe hose from the tub and spin the inner drum to the correct position, they screw hole will line up through the opening, re-secure the hose to the tub and your in!

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet Sport not running it makes clicks and it grinds

A common problem with noises from washing machines has been the under wire that may come out of small clothes. In the washer they can get stuck in one of the inner basket holes and make a scrapping noise, they can actually make there way into the pump and jam the pump, or make a terrible noise when the pump is running. Grab a flash light and have a peek inside the washer for this. Front load washers seem very common to this happen! If the tiny cloth is showing signs of fraying, may be best not to wash it in the washing machine, replace the cloth.=======
It's noisy Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

SOURCE: duet ghw9100 washer clunking noise on spinning

With the machine off, push upward on the inner drum and release. If the clunking sound occurs and the drum seems somewhat loose, likely the front main bearing for the drum is damaged and must be replaced. Major tear-down!

Duet washer making a loud noise on spin cycle, it squeaks on low spin and then when it gets up to high speed, it is really loud. What could this be?

In most cases it is something that is sticking between the drum and the housing. Check inside the boot by the door. If that is not helpful move the drum by hand and listen to see if you can locate the area of the noise.

Ho do I reset the whirlpool error codes f6

F06 Drive motor tachometer error The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes.

Potential Causes

• Check wire harness connections between the Drive Motor/Tachometer and the Motor ControlUnit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU)
• Check the Drive Motor
• Check the MCU
• Check the Wire Harness

Replace failed component.

My Whirlpool duet sport makes a terrible noise during spin cycle like drum hitting something or belt slipping. There are no error codes or smell of burning belt. HELP!!

the drum bearings are shot, you need to get them replaced,if the drum is actually hitting the sides if the tub this could be a broken spider thats on the rear of the inner drum that holds the drum on if this comes loose it can cause serious personal injury

There seems to be something between the drum and the plastic outer casing of the drum. When the drum spins, there is a scraping noise and the object does seem to move inside the space. It doesn't hinder...

Most seals completely prevent clothing ie a tiny kids sock or other kids clothes. if it's bouncing about in side the exterior drum, something has broken and fallen inside there that shouldn't be.

Mine started with a wobbly spin, and ended up being a main spider gear that holds the wash drum inside the exterior drum perfectly with a watertight seal to a DD motor! A $240 dollar part shipped in saved the machine because the dryer has tons of miles left in it.

I used a video on Youtube to make the repair step by step including putting it back together again!

My whirlpool duet makes an awful banging noise when a load of laundry is in the spin cycle. It is completely level and I cannot figure it out.

reach inside drum that turns and try to move it up and down. If there is any movement the spider at the rear of the drum is broken. Will need inner drum and outer rear tub with bearing and seal.

The washer makes terrible noise when it spins

do you mean up and down? or when you turn the drum like you are spinning it?if it makes a sound like an airplane takeing off or a train rolling through your house. you have a bad bearing which is a very exspensive repair.

Terrible scraping noise from drum, what is it?

more likely there is a bra wire caught between the inner drum and outer tub, possibly wrapping itself around the element in the bottom.
