The cell does not read the correct salt level

Test strips read too much salt, but water care light is flashing. System reads low salt check cell. I have cleaned the cell, cleaned filters, balanced water but still cannot get the sanitizing system on line. The problem started after I topped the water off because it was getting low.

Test your salt level with a Taylor salt kit to see what the actuall PPM is. You should be betwen 3200 and 3700. There is that possibility that your cell has developed a fault. Kit available at your pool supply place.

SOURCE: I have added salt due to constant low salt

Way too high on the salt.. about 5000 to 7000 ppm. You should be around 2000 to 3000 ppm or 5.6 to 6.6... I had the same issue with my system and it's always the cell..Look inside the cell and if you can see white stuff inside, it needs to to be cleaned... The manual states to soak with vinegar for 6hrs.. I soak mine for 24, flush and soak again for 6hrs and flush again.. Comes our clean.. and the low salt alarm goes away until the next time the cell gets dirty with the white buildup... You can add an additive made by hth called "Cell Saver"..Prolongs the cleaning cycle... After you clean the cell and your filter, change your chlorinator cycle to 10 hrs with your pump to run 11 to12 until the pool clears and then lower to maintain the proper chlorine level.. Good luck and hopes this works for you.....

SOURCE: intex salt water witha 18x48 witha 2000/gph pump.

nothing is wrong that you cant fix
you must have your salt no lower than 2800ppm
and no higher than 3800
3000ppm is the best
make sure you run filter only for 24 hours once you have correct salt then start generating

one last thing test with strips that read #'s not the color strips

Installed new t-cell and it still says salt level is zero, but the t-cell trips out on high salts, amps. What is the problem?

Depending on the water temperature the actual salt level reading can be inaccurate.

If the water temp is below 65 the reading will sometimes show a lower salt level than the actual level.

Did you recalibrate the power center?

Have you tested the salt level independently?

I would first test the water or have it tested, many pool stores offer this service for free.
It helps to have an accurate reading and not rely on salt test strips.

Once you know the actual salt level you can attemptrecalibrate the system and see what reading you get.

For an aqua rite system you flip the toggle to super chlor, to off and back to auto , wait 5-10 seconds you will hear a click then press the button next to the display , tI'll you see the salt level calibrating.

My saltwater system keeps reading that my pool has low salt however I tested my pool and it has way to much salt. Also I have 6way testing strip and I don't know how to read it. I don't know what way is...

Just match the colors on the strip
you should at least have a few close ones that would indicate which way to hold it

As for salt, I hope you are using a test kit for salt that reads #'s not colors

you need to be as close to 3000ppm as possible

under 2700ppm and you will not produce enough chlorine and trigger alarms any higher than 3500 and you will trigger alarms, could go cloudy, and also cause corrosion on metal parts like an aluminum ladder

The system can read backwards like if it is high salt showing it could be low or the other way around.
The system only really knows there is a problem

just remeber 3000ppm

If you are over 3500ppm start by draining 20% water and refill and filter only for 6 hours until you get it back to 3000

once in the paramiters I mentioned clean your electro cell and start the system

We just replaced the T-cell for our pool. We were

Sound to me that you added wat to much salt.
If you are using a salt test kit that eads in colors throw it away and get a kit that reads in #.s
If you are using the one with #'s then proceed to getting your water to as close to 3000ppm as possible
Drain 20 % water ad fresh and check again keep doing this ti'll you get close to the 3000ppm

any lower than 2800 and you can read low salt and worse of all you will not produce enough chlorine any higher than 3500 and you will go cloudy and read high

It is my opinion that you were low salt and then adding to much salt put you to far to high

remeber anytime you add salt you should filter only for 12-24 hours to distribute the salt properly so the unit knows what it is reading

While adjusting your salt level clean your new cell with vinegar let it soak for a few hours You should have received a cap to cover one end of the cell while soaking
once cleaned it will not grab hold of the salt water until the generator is turned on

Just remeber 3000ppm

I am getting a 0 reading on my copper and chlorine reading strips and i have ran my filter correctly for 6 days now

if your salt is too low you will not be able to generate chlorine.
Get a test strips that has #'s on the bottle not color strips for salt.
get it to 3000ppm filter only for 24 hours then try to generate

Code 91

91 means Low Salt. I have seen this occur if the salt level is actually too low as well as when the plates have a large amount of white crystals on them. If your plates look clean (I use a pressure washer to clean them), check the salt level using salt test strips you can get at a pool supply store.
