I see that your Frigidaire washer, FAFW3517KW, is constantly showing you pause, when you press start it flashes the pause again, and that the door lock light does not come on. Hello Mary Fortner - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

You need the Factory Repair Manual for your Affinity Washer. There is alot that can go wrong with these machines and you will need to run the washer through its diagnostics.

If you just paused the washer and now displays a error try draining any existing water all out of the machine.Before re filling it see if you still get the error message.I'll be happy to guide you through this.
