My Frigidaire Affinity washer stopped working in middle of cycle and shows PAU code.

'power strip'!! You can't run a washing machine from a power strip! It pulls far to many amps. Plug into a wall socket on its own.

PAU Error. The PAU, or pause, error usually means that the washing machine cycle was interrupted and was not restarted properly. If you try to modify the cycle or start a new one before the first cycle is complete, the PAU error will appear on the display.

My front load affinity will not start, says pause

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I see that your Frigidaire washer, FAFW3517KW, is constantly showing you pause, when you press start it flashes the pause again, and that the door lock light does not come on. You could be seeing a couple of different possible reasons this is happening such as your control panel, door lock assembly, or door switch. Since it could be any of the underlying issues I would recommend having a professional come out to the home and repair the washer. -Matt

My Frigidaire Affinity is brand new. Just did our first load of laundry and mid cycle it stopped and the PAU is lighting up intermittent with the time left. I have tried everything I can think of and it...

Hello Mary Fortner - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.
