Your bulb is most likely burn out.

  • Plug the projector into the wall and put it into standby mode. You should have already replaced the projector's lamp with a new LMP-P200.
  • Press the "Reset," left arrow, right arrow and "Enter" keys on the projector's control panel. Press them in the exact order listed here, one after another, and press each key for less than five seconds.
  • Turn the projector on with the "Power" button. Press the "Menu" key to enter the projector's menu settings.
  • Press the down arrow to navigate to the "Install Setting" menu and press the right arrow to select it. You should see the lamp timer at the bottom of the screen. If you have correctly reset the lamp timer, it will indicate 0 or 1 hours.

The lamp does not attempt to turn on anymore on my Runco VX-1C projector. Power to the projector is good but lamp does not turn on.

I was about to chime in that you should reset the lamp hours after inserting the new bulb ... until I read that you couldn't see the menu because the bulb still doesn't turn on. Hmmm...

Have you checked all of the filters to ensure they're free of dust build-up? I'm wondering if it overheated which caused the fault.

Due to the fact that this model is out-of-production your options have become limited. I recommend at this point you give them a call:

How can I tell if the lamp still works? I dont have the projector to text the lamp so I'm wondering if there is any way to tell if it still works.

Because the lamp does not have a filament, you cannot run a standard continuity test either. You really need the correct power supply and ballast to see if it still works. Many old lamps will continue to work although the lumen output will be significantly reduced.

VPL-HS20 issues...who's got the right answers!

I know this post is 3yrs old, but wanted to add a couple things. I have the VPL-HS20, you can take the filter out and blow it out with air can duster every so often. I bought a new one and they are over $30.00.. Also buy the correct bulb LMP-H180 3000hrs if you replace it. You can clean the front lens protector, Remove slide tab, hold top and bottom of lens cover assembly and give a firm 1/4 twist clockwise, then pull out. You can clean it with glass cleaner cloth.

The Projector will turn off after so many hours of running the same bulb module. The counter will turn on a replace bulb LED. Installing the new bulb module should reset the counter and turn off the LED.

Check the projector’s lamp to ensure that it is securely connected
in the lamp module. Make sure by removing it and reinserting it.

    Check the cables for problems.

When testing, power up in this order. Projector, Computer monitor, Computer.

A minor power surge may cause the lamp to shut off. Turn the
projector off, wait at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

    I hope these suggestions help
