Question about Lexmark X6650 4-In-One Wireless InkJet Printer
I even bought a new printer cord and tried several different usb ports but it still doesn't recognize my printer. I downloaded lexmark software but during the installation it asked to connect the printer to the pc and obviously I cant do that, it doesn't let me continue on to the next step either.
It's possible that the problem is with the USB port on the printer. If you have a router, you can try to connect your printer using an ethernet cable so you won't have to configure your printer using a USB cable.
Once you have connected the printer using an ethernet cable, proceed with the installation in your computer and choose ethernet as the connection type. It should automatically find the printer on your network.

I fixed this by completely uninstalling the Lexmark software, then unplugging the USB and restarting. I then installed the new Lexmark software that I downloaded from their site, make sure not to plug the USB back in until it told me to. It then detected the printer properly and started working.
