  • you may have to get a new graphics card that is compatable with windows 7. I have the same problem with some of my computers, 2 of my 4 computers have to have new graphics cards cause the graphics cards that in them are not compatable with windows 7.

You might try updating the graphic card driver, by going to their
sites and see if they have a updated driver that will work

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: framerate problem after installing new driver

Hello,

Review pages abound. This is a horrible driver. I have included two pages with some information about your driver. As I don't know what your graphics card is, I can't recommend the correct driver, although suggestions are made on the second link I have given you.

SOURCE: Problem installing Graphics Driver in VISTA

if you have logged in since installing the new driver, booting to last known good config. will not solve the problem. if this is the case try rolling back the driver by:

1. right click on 'My Computer'
2. click manage
3. click device manager in the left panel
4. click sound, video and game controllers about midway down on the right panel
5. once it expands, find the icon for your nvidia graphics driver and right click
6. click properties
7. click driver tab
8. click roll back driver button

this will reset your computer to the former graphics driver
- if there was no previous driver installed you could reboot and immediately hit F8 to load boot options from there choose enable VGA mode which loads basic video drivers

Nvidia 7400 card dowsnt work with windows 7

Here is the link from where you can download NVIDIA 7400 driver for windows 7.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista_win7_179.48_beta.html

Open the above link and Click on "Supported products", you will find your card listed there.

Download the file and installed it.Your graphic will work fine with Windows 7.

Your Notebook doesn't support windows 7 according to Sony. But if Windows 7 work fine with your Notebook then it's good. The graphic card which comes with your laptop is support by Windows 7 and the driver for that chipset is available and there should not be any problem with your graphic card.

Happy New year..
