Question about LG WM-16100FD \ WM-16105FD Front Load Washer

Open Question

LG WM-16100FD has no power

Machine is 18 months old and has been working fine since new. It has just stopped and has no power to it at all.
I have checked the supply and the fuse all of which are working fine.
What can i do to check if power is getting to the machine or is there a reset function on the machine?
If not is there an internal safety switch that might have tripped?

When the unit is off, open the door and spin the drum, does the noise occur? If the answer is no then there is nothing wrong with the bearings. Chances are the hall sensor on the motor is on the way out. Call for service and ask them to replace it. Make sure you are using a "HE" branded detergent,,,, less is best.

SOURCE: LG Washer trips dedicated breaker

That to me seems like an electrical problem. Every now and again you can get a bad GFCI receptacle that will constantly keep tripping. I would also see that the GFCI is properly sized for the circuit. It needs to be a 20 AMP circuit (just dedicated to the washer) and a 20AMP GFCI receptacle. The way to tell is the 1 of the three prongs of the 20AMP GFCI will be in the shape of a "T" while a 15 AMP will have 2 straight prongs and the ground prong. Hope this ws helpful, don't go spilling any money into your washer without getting that fixed first, because it doesn't seem like a washer problem.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I hope you don't mind me saying so but often the softener dispensing siphon tube gets missed when cleaning the dispenser 'cos it's difficult to see!----------->
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.
If this isn't the problem it could be that the water dispensing is not working correctly. It is easy to check by selecting (final?) rinse, pulling the drawer slightly out and seeing and hearing whether water is being fed into the softener tray. If is isn't then it is a call-out ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

BRand new installation of 1 year old machine we

hi,

I am a novice at front loaders but it sounds like it needs new suspension parts, namely springs, sounds like the machine had a hard life before you got it. since its used anyways it cant hurt to take the back off and see and study how it works and how the drums suspension works. you can try to find the springs at an appliance store. Im not sure if you can get springs directly from LG. LG's are a pretty good name brand, probably worth fixing..
good luck!

LG WM0642H Sounds like a helicopter durning Spin

It sounds like the machine is not balancing correctly. My guess is that if you operate the machine empty (no clothes inside) that it will operate fine. If so, then the machine is not balancing correctly.

Normally an error code should come up if there is a balance issue (UE error). If this code is not coming up then the machine thinks it is balanced when it really isn't. This means that either the hall sensor is sending out incorrect data or the main board is not interpreting the data correctly. A technician should be able to ohm out the hall sensor to see if it needs replaced or the main board.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.
