Question about Washing Machines

Ariston A1636 1600 spin

When my wife does a wash, sometimes (not always) a lot of water comes from the machine. This is clear water comming from the bottom front of the machine. it seems to come at the fill time rather thah the wash / spin time. I have run the machine a number of times to see when and where the water comes from (with an empty machine) but no water. I suspected it was from the feed from the soap tray down but cannot find a manual to be able to open the washer to see if anything is wrong.

Any help greatfully recieved Got the same problem with my ALD140-model. When my tenant use the machine, the tumbler fills up more than 1/2 full and there's a leakage whith seemingly clear water. But, when I use it, there's no problem! Never had this problem before.

And yes. The problem came when I got a new tenant. Hmmm....

It's studip, but the only difference I've seen between him putting the machine on and me, is that I hold the START-button in for a few seconds before taking my finger away, while the tenant just press the buttong for a short second. Could that be the reason???

My front loader Ariston A1636S. Is washing and pumping water out very quiet, but when it comes to spinning has become noisy, and perhaps describe as a grating noise. But no strange smells.

Most common causes of noisy spin are something has found its way between the drum and its casing or the heater has come adrift from its fixing and is rubbing on the drum

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

water comes out of draw when the water is emptying and on a spin. have tried it on the drain button to see if it did the same and there seems to be no problem on this function, only seems to be a problem when spinning, not sure if something is blocked.

Yo!

unplug machine from power.

pull the front panel off of the machine its at the bottom, kind of snaps off bottom first then top eases out, anyway becareful as it is pretty fragile plastic.

On right hand side unscrew filter cap - prepare for lots of water that really stinks to pour out. Cap can be a fiddle but does release after unscrewing anti clock wise.

Put fingers in and clear out any blockages you can see, mine was a 1 pence peice and a hair tie. Put back together and it should be ok.
