The problem you described is most times the=> 2188778 Water Inlet Valve
Galaxy model # 106.55122700 - 12_8_2012_3_24_11_pm.jpg

on the ice maker side of the 2188778 Water Inlet Valve What happens is the valve turns off electricall but the mechanical part of the 2188778 Water Inlet Valve leaks ozzing water by the valve while off like a leaky faucet. The solution is to replace the water control valve. I will be here to answer any questions you have Thanks Sea Breeze

SOURCE: GE GSS25LGM Ice maker

Our Ice maker quit working. Won't make ice, but will dispense water. I unplugged the refrigerator and plugged it back in. I noticed that the green light on the ice maker is now blinking. It was steady on before I unplugged the fridge. Any ideas?

SOURCE: Ice maker feeding too much water and overflows

I have the GE Profile TFX24PR that exhibited the same symptoms. I had water leaking, making ice in the bottom of the ice bin, as well as under the ice bin. I also discovered ice down the back wall of the freezer.

A technician replaced the ice maker, which did not solve the problem. He put the original back and replaced the valve on the back. That too did not solve the problem. I took matters into my own hands.

I discovered that the ice maker water fill tube that comes in through the back of the freezer wall was leaking. Water would run down the outside of the tube. Some of the water would go into the ice maker, some would go into the ice bin and some of the water would also run down the wall of the fan housing where it passes through a hole in the fan housing. The big problem was the water running down the wall of the fan housing. From there it ran onto the cooling coils, where it would freeze, causing the freezer to go into extended defrost. My freezer and fridge would warm up and I had some food spoil.

If this looks like it may be your problem, you may want to enlist some help for this; it is tedious, time consuming and requires working in the confined spaces of the freezer.

After disassembling the fan housing I was able to access the fill tube. It just pushes in and is prone to wear, especially after fourteen years. I just reversed the ends of the tube and pushed it back in for a snug fit. You may want to consider using a sealer. Everything is working fine now; lots of ice in the bin, and no stray ice or water.

SOURCE: Roper Ice maker wont kick ice cubes out of tray.

Remove white plastic cover on ice maker. On bottom you will notice the heater connections, check for voltage. If good, heater is most likely bad.

SOURCE: ice maker overfills and leaks into the ice bin.

I have had a similar problem several times. What I have found is that the ice tray coating has begun to flake off. Then, the ice sticks or partially dumps. Next more ice builds up and when the valve opens the water runs over the partially emptied tray and spills into the bin making "icebergs". The remedy is to replace the tray or if that is not possible, then, the whole icemaker. In fact, I have one down stairs to put in tomorrow. They don't seem to last more than about 4 years or so.

Ice maker leaking water into the ice bin

If it leaks steadily you need a new water valve that feeds the ice maker. If it only overflows when it goes through a cycle, then the timing is off in the ice maker, and will need to be replaced, or adjusted. If it is adjustable, it will have a screw with a spring on it with a +/- symbol by it, behind the front white cover plate. You will just simply tighten or loosen the screw, to make the metal rod around the screw go into the - area. If it is not adjustable, there won't be the adjustment screw and it will need to be replaced. Also, sometimes its not overflowing, and it is just leaking from the mold, which also means you need to replace it.

Seems like my icemaker overflows when filling. I have an ice build up around the plastic box. How can I adjust water

There is not an adjustment. The ice maker dump arm has a cam on it that engages the water fill switch. switch is bad or ice maker motor has a bad spot in it .

If water continues to flow slowly after filling the water control valve for your model will need to be replaced=> 241734301 Water Inlet Valve

Ice-maker water overflowing into the freezer/ice-maker.

Possibly the inlet valve.  If it doesn't shut all the way off it will drip water which will freeze in the chute and cause it to overflow.

Ice maker over flows with water

There is an orifice that controls the water flow to the ice maker . If to much water is being fed to the ice maker it will result in an overflow. You may want to check the pressure of the water system in your house.

If the overflow is being caused by a continuous feed to the ice maker your electric valve supplying the water may not be reseating after it shut off electrically. If this is your problem obtain a new valve assembly to replace it.
