Beverage air dd58 kegerator won't stay cold

I have an older model bev air dd58 kegerator 2 tap stainless steel model that won't stay cold. I have had the freon charged twice in the past four months. It stays cold for about a month and then gets warm. The unit keeps running and won't cycle off and it won't drain at all. Any advice?

I have an older Beverage Air DD58 kegerator. I am replacing the condensation tray. To do this I had to pop up the top. My question is how do I now seal it when I put the top down? Can I use silicon? If so, is there a special kind I need?

The freon system is a sealed system. If you are adding freon, there is a leak. have the leak repaired and this should resolve the issue. Freon should not need filling but one time and only after the leak is located and repaired.

The unit is probably low on gas again. If it lasts a month the leak may be difficult to find, as it may be a small leak. Those units don't hold a lot of gas. Have someone do a nitrogen leak check and fix the leak. If no leak is found, have them install a UV dye to help find the leak. :)

The only way I have found to seal those tops back down is with 100% silicone caulk, NOT LATEX OR BUYTAL, silicon.( We use 3m.) Then hold it down with cinder blocks for at least 24 hours then you are in business.

Model nodd78e iceing coils or not cooling when at lower t stat setting was r12 changed to hot shot

icing coil could be improper freon level, poor air flow. If it was changed to hot shot due to a low freon level, was the leak in the system located and repair? If so, then check out the above mentioned items. If not, freon level is low due to an unresolved leak.

Beverage-Air Kegerator Not Staying Cold

It can take a very long time to get a keg of beer down in temperature. The heat transfer from a keg is slow due to the lack of air circulation inside the keg. You should also check your condenser coils, make sure they are clean. Door gasket should also be in good repair. Hope this helps.

Beverage air cycling off/on

These units are not designed to run in temps much lower than 50 degrees. They have no winter controls and the freon pressures will take a nose dive when running in a cold ambient condition. The unit will not run well in a cold environment, compressor damage may result. :(

With the BevAir DW49 does a lower number mean colder or warmer?

1 is usually the warmest setting. The higher the number to colder the setting. Start in the middle and make minor adjustments allowing considerable time in between to dial in the temp of your unit.
