SOURCE: old model rca washer machine...will not agitate/wash the clothes, does spin.

If the washer fills up with water and you hear the motor running but the agitator doesn’t move, the agitator coupling is the most likely problem. First pump the water out by turning the timer to spin. Once the water is out, turn the washer off. Now pull up on the agitator until it comes off (it may be hard to pull off). Now that the agitator is off, you can see the agitator coupling, reach down and try to turn the coupling. If the coupling turns freely, it is striped out and needs to be replaced.

Why does my kenmore washer 110 fill with water but won't wash or spin?

Do you happen to hear a humming noise coming from the machine after the tub fills? This might indicate that the motor is spinning, but the belt that connects the motor to the rest of the machine works is broken. It is located underneath the washer. Tip the washer a bit and have a look. If it's broken, you'll probably find the belt laying on the floor. Take that to an appliance parts store where they can match it up with a new one. Installation is not too difficult. The belt will go around the motor pulley, the transmission pulley, the water pump, and in some cases, a spring-loaded tensioner. I hope this helps! :) -Jason

Machine retains water

Please check the small thin rubber pipe that is connected to the drum. it acts as a pressure sensor may be it is clogged and not able to give proper water level reading. use skewer or thick flexible wire to clean it.

Hi my hotpoint ultima wmd960 of 2 half years, when i put a wash on it starts and fills up for about 3 mins later it comes up :no water, check supply, then starts ti drain water away ,then fills up again,so...

Please check your inlet water hose for any clogging that may be stopping the proper flow. some machines are programmed to get filled in particular given interval of time. they need proper pressure to properly work. Remove the hose and clean the wire mesh filter.

The error indicates a problem with the incoming water supply.
Check for restricted or kinked inlet hose/s, check that tap/s are fully turned on and that you have adequate water pressure.

My machine wont fill up with water or wash the clothes. I made the mistake of filling up the washer with water and then adding the clothes. The agitator wouldn't spin. So, I went to spin to get the water...

The machine is top loading means there you are suppose to check whether any wire cut in the unit or any loose connection of connector kindly press all the connectors properly otherwise if you found any display light is blinking means the main board of the machine is defective
check the connectors and wires if it is ok means kindly replace the mainboard

Will not spin out the water will wash and fill up but it will not spin out

Check the filter to ensure that it is not blocked. If at bottom of machine, as most are, pull machine forward so that can put bowl underneath before removing.....otherwise end up with a very wet floor!

ok there are 2 screws that hold the front panel on. they are at the bottom. take them off then take the panel you can see inside. ckeck carefull if you run the machine there is a gearcase that spins if you hit it while its running you can break your arm.

My LG front load washing machine makes a loud buzzing/vibration when I think it is trying to fill up with water. Prior to this problem water was leaking from underneath when the washing machine was filling...

rick...this sounds like a problem with the fill valve or the water supply to it. The buzz should be a valve opening. I assume you have noted no kinked water hoses.

First, set the machine on either hot or cold water wash and try to fill the machine. Then do the other. That will tell you which of the two valves is not performing. Now that you know which one is malfunctioning, turn the water off at the spigot side and then remove the hose from the back of the machine for the non-functional feed. Turn on the spigot on to see if you are getting water flow. If not, check for a clogged filter washer on the spigot side. If so, do the same on the machine inlet valve side. If both are clean, replace the is jamming.

I don't know what the black hose you describe is. It may be an overflow drain.

Washing machine wont drain

the drain hose assembly is similar to a p-trap underneath your sink. make sure your drain hose is a upside-down J. from what you describe your hose isn't a p-trap.
