Question about Mach Speed (S755) Motherboard

1 Answer

Hdd problem I BOUGHT THIS MSNV-939 MOBO W/AMD X2 3800,I REFORMATED MY MAIN DRIVE IN CABLE SELECT, NOW WHEN I PUT THIS SECOND DRIVE IN TO RUN AS A MASTER & SLAVE (CHANGING JUMPERS OF COURSE) ON BOOT IT SAYS THAT MY PRIMARY IS A SLAVE AND THAT THEIR IS NO SECONDARY (ALSO NOTE THIS SLAVE DRIVE HAS ALL MOVIES ON IT). I TOOK BOTH DRIVES & HOOKED THEM UP ON THE IDE CABLE SEPERATELY & THE MOBO SEEES THEM, BUT NOT TOGETHER. THEY WORKED B4 IN MY OTHER SYSTEM (DELL DIM. 2400). DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.

It's not often you need to use cable select, but if you have had to use cable select on one of your drives, your other drive would have to use cable select, but you may need to check in the bios F2 or Del on start up and in the list of drives you should be able to press f12 or similair to auto identify the drives, then save and exit.

Hi........Socket 939 is an outdated processor and not compatible with Athlon 2. You may find a 939 dual core on ebay, but suggest you save up for an AM3 mobo. Hank

You need to reinstall Windows if you took it out of a different system. Windows is built according to your hardware when it is installed, you can't just drop the HDD into another, completely different, system and expect it to work.

Back up any data you want off that drive and format and reinstall windows and any other programs you want. That is the only way to make it work in your situation, sorry...

No boot on start up all fans start but no video

I had same problem!
I figured there was something wrong with my memory because that is what the manual says the constant beeps mean.
I bought a new PNY memory stick 1 gb DDR and got the same beeps when i put it in.
So being totally disappointed I tried putting the Stick in the #3 DIMM. I booted up and IT WORKED!
I have not called tech support or tried both 1 & 3 DIMM together but I will try after I set up the rest of my computer.

I assume you have tried with only one stick of ram individually at a time if you are using two to check it's not the ram as one faulty can cause the system to stop. Also assuming you bought the ram from the same place and is compatible with the board. Sometimes people also forget that the processor in some cases has to be powered by the 4 pin plug from the PSU and not just from the ZIF socket that older processors use to power up, so double check the manual. The other main common cause of the this problem is when you are putting together all the hardware onto the board, if you don't protect it underneath it may have overflexed the board and shorted or damaged the circuitry or the bios chip. That's not to say that the motherboard was'nt faulty in the first place.
