Hello...if you haven't tried this already, I would recommend a router reboot ( ie disconnect the router's power, wait 30 seconds and reconnect). Then, when the LEDs show the router is ready, load the Internet Explorer browser instead of Firefox, and try accessing the settings through IE. Does this make any difference?

Trying to add security to belkin router

Try to access the 192.168.2.1page again. Then look for Wireless Security settings. Select WEP 64 bits as your security mode, type 10-digit # on the WEP key 1 box and save settings. The 10-digit code is your wireless security password. That's it

Encryption problems

You just have to enter the WEP encryption that you have configured on the Belkin router to reconnect your laptop back to the wireless router. To verify the WEP of the router:

  • Open an Internet Explorer window on your computer and type in http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar. This will take you to the Belkin router's web based configuration page. If you are not able to open the page click here.
  • You will get a login page. Leave the password blank. Click Submit .
  • On the left side of the page, click Wireless Security or Security below Wireless .
  • Take note of the WEP key.
  • Click Logout in the top right hand corner.

How do i secure my network been on this router ages n just found out its not secure pls help

belkin usually has 192.168.2.1 for the router's address. Type this in internet explorer and go there. If you get a page not found or redirection, then open RUN and type cmd. type ipconfig and push enter. Look at the defualt gateway. That is the address you will type in address bar in internet explorer. This should bring up the router's page. There should be a wireless section. You need to find where it says security somewhere.
