Question about Printers & Copiers
Photocopier Model: Minolta EP 2100
The lamp appears to have blown. Do you know how to replace a lamp on this model. When I turn it on to warm up after about 1-2 minutes it flashes an error code C5.
C5 is the heater lamp in the Fuser assembly, the lamp is fairly easy to replace, but I would check he thermal fuse first.

Hello, the C5 code will only show up after the C7 code -- Fuser temp. to low. First put a meter on the Thermal fuse and the Thermistor and see if it is blown. The fuse and thermistor are under the black ( usually) fuser cover which runs the lenght of the fuser. If the fuse and /or thermistor are blown, replace. The lamp will not come on if the fuse or thermistor are blown. If the fuse and thermistor are good then take the end cap off of the fuser ( usually 1 screw) and disconnect the brass (usually) from the lamp. Check the lamp ( continuity), is the lamp okay. If not replace the lamp. If all of these are good then check the Solid state relay unit ( usually in the lower right hand side looking at the back of the machine with cover off). If the relay is good then you have to replace the PWB-A, the main board.
