Whole instrument cluster is completely dead.

The entire instrument panel is dead. not one single gauge even twitches and no lights ever come on at all. would this be a fuse issue or do i need and entirely new cluster for the car? if so, is a junk yard the best but also cheapest route to go?

I had the same problem with my 92 new yorker my over head consle didnt work so it was shorting out my guages if u remove the four screws in the overhead consle and carefully lower it down there is a little black plug with small wires about 4 or 5 if you unplug the little plug your guages should work but like i said my overhead consle didnt work and if yours does it wont hurt to try this option

have you got a dimmer switch on your model to dim the dash lights. if you have it may be faulty. link the cables together if the lights work the switch is faulty. if you have not got a dimmer switch
your printed circuit on the back of the dash may be faulty or the plug in the back of the dash is not pushed all the way in. hope this helps

Where is the instrument panel cluster located in 1999 grand voyager

The cluster is the array of gauges, warning lights, speedometer, and tachometer that is fitted into the dash. The whole array is called a clluster because it can be removed from the dash as a single assembly.

All gauges stopped working on Friday but came back on after going through checking all lights etc. After turning right signal light on ( while driving) the gauges came on. All gauges went again today and...

this is a common issue. the internals of the instrument panel clusters become defective, and is a sealed unit - the entire cluster must be replaced. this must be performed at the dealer because they need to reprogram the mileage into the new cluster with the GM scantool. you should call your local dealer with your VIN#, some models are covered by a secret / extended / goodwill warranty. if the dealer says no, request the 1800 number to contact gm. good luck!

Info cluster including gauges are dead. fuse checks good

Is the cluster completely dead or is it a problem with the gauges only? If the entire cluster is dead it could be a cracked circuit board.Another posibility is a bad ground. This is known to occur in the 99-02 Silverado clusters and the 03-06's but not as many.
