Question about Toshiba TP55H95 55" Rear Projection Television

When I turn on my toshiba rear projection tv the color will be messed up.but when the tv warms up the color will be fine.also when the tv is cold the tv screen will shake across the tv

The tv is also a HDTV 55"

You have some bad capacitors in the power supply. Look for domed over capacitors.

    They are on the power supply board, that is where the AC cord comes in.

this sounds like a convergence loss... the most likely cause of this is what is known as stk's or convergenc ic(chips) have gone bad.. also it cound be the output resistors. most likely need replaced

SOURCE: toshiba 55 inch hdtv lamp

this is a crt type tv- no lamps just crt's if it was moved recently then a seal could have been damaged on the crt cuasing coolant to leak down the neck getting into the socket. this will cause trouble for sure also could have a crack in the crt. look for a sticky liquid in the bottom of the unit.
sometime the crt's can ark and rip out a video output chip on the crt socket check it out.
not common but not unheard of.cheers

you can get the convergence repair kit for your model that has both convergence IC and the six feed resistors at this link, The repair kit also has step by step instructions with pictures so you can do the repair your self. The menu screen for the tv comes on and off by itself, also a banner comes up on the top that says "demo mode Motionflow"


If you can get into the menu, find and disable demo mode.


I'm looking at the manual and I bet its in SETUP.

I got the 55" just


Go to your menu settings, look for an "autoprogram" option. Select that option and let it run completely through. This will add all available channels and deletes all channels that don't have a signal.

Find a buttons on ur tv remote control that said like VIEWMODE,P.size or a Zoom.Push one of these buttons to find the wright picture mode to fit in ur tv picture screen frame.
