Your scanner will have software that opens to allow you to scan. Look on your desktop for something that says, HP scanJet (studio?) if not then click start, all programs and look for, HP, HP ScanJet. There you will click on the software which will open & let you choose where to scan to, modifications, ect. If this helps plz rate this 'fixya', if you need more help leave a comment & I'll be happy to help. I know how frustrating it can be! Good luck.
Look at your AC Adaptor for your Scanjet and see what the output voltage is. Then try to find another AC adaptor that will fit your scanjet and has the same output voltage as your original. It could be that your adaptor is bad.
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/15999 I have a Mac running OS X 10.5.5. dan123 answered my hp3500c problem with the above link. I downloaded the dmg file and installed the hp environment and it works. I was not, however, able to use the Photoshop plugin in Photoshop Elements 6. I can use the hp GUI and name Photoshop Elements as the output. I performs the scan and then opens it in Photoshop.
