Question about Cell Phones
This issue can be caused due to 2 probabilities.
1)Bad sim-contacts: The sim consists of about 8 pins that need to make contact with those in the phone. If these contacts are dirty/damaged you would get that message. Please insert another sim and check if it works. If it does then you have a bad sim and you can request a duplicate sim from orange for a small price.
2)Bad phone contacts: Try what I have told above. If it doesn't work then the contact pins in the phone are damaged. This can be due to loose solders and a variety of other reasons including oxidization(very rare though). I would suggest you get the phone to authorized service personal if this is the case. Any attempt to do it yourself there by tampering with the phone may render your warranty void. Infact I have taken to mobile repair after motorola had refused to repair and old phone coz a friend of mine tampered it trying to fix it. Please let me know if you need to know anything else.
