Question about Sharp Mx-3100n Color Copier Super Clean-practically
ERROR CODE E7-06 WAS ON SCREEN WHEN I CAME IN. I UNPLUGGED IT, AND TOOK OUT A LARGE SHEET OF PAPER FROM BOTTOM RIGHT DOOR THAT WAS "JAMMED"...IT CAME OUT EASILY. WHEN I TURNED THE COPIER BACK ON, AFTER A MINUTE YOU COULD TELL IT WAS TRYING TO MAKE ANOTHER COPY, AND THE DATA LIGHT WAS BLINKING.....BUT IN ANOTHER MINUTE, THE ERROR CODE CAME UP AGAIN, AND THE PAPER WAS SITTING IN THE SAME LOCATION.

The problem is either a corrupt print job that the copier is trying to process or the copier's hard drive is faulty.
Firstly, turn off the copier, check all P.C's that are connected to the copier & purge any print jobs that are currently spooled on the P.C's. Next, turn on the copier & see if it comes ready. If it does, try to print a known document from a P.C. If the error occurs again then I would suspect the hard drive on the copier is faulty.
Hope this helps.

You might need to run a service mode to reset the machine:
P * C * 14 (start) then 1 for Yes and follow on screen directions, code should clear out.

I just fixed this problem on my sharp all in one. The white rollers on the underside of the copier cover were not rolling well. I took an alcohol prep pad and started cleaning them, rolling as I went. A large piece of lint fell out. I put the documents in the document feeder and they fed through like a charm. Hope this helps.

The paper detector on the fixing units have a history of going bad. The fixing unit is the hot roller above the drum inside the right door on the top. As the copy comes thru the rollers the paper hits a plastic lever that is spring loaded and located in the middle of the fixing unit. The sensor is all the way to the right side of the fixing assembly. If you move the lever in the middle you'll see a piece of plastic moving on the right, that piece comes out of the sensor and if can't reset the jam, that piece may not be resetting itself back inside the sensor. This is difficult to try to explain.
