Welcome to Fixya! Try this. Disconnect cables and Power from the Printer, Uninstall and Reinstall the Printer Software, Restart your PC, Reconnect all Cables and Power, Run the Software and Run the Software, Setup, then Print a Test Page. It should be Fine.

Fallow Ginkos Advice!!!!!!!!!!! Also Try Shutting off the printer and holding the power off/on button for 30 seconds then power on.
this should be done with the cartridge in place. See if that prints a diagnostic page

I'm not at home and I don't have the manuals with me but I think it is very simple to get into Service mode.

1.  Turn the printer off
2.  Press and hold the Resume button,.. and while holding it, press the Power button and then release the Resume button but hold the power button,... and press the Resume button Twice.
3.  Release the power button and the green light will flash a couple of times and you will be in Service Mode.   It will stay in Service Mode unit you take other actions.
4.  To force the Service Test print, press the Resume button once and then the power button once.   Make sure you have paper in the printer before you do this.

The printer will print out the information and it will still be in Service Mode.
5.  To print out the EEprom data, press the resume button twice and then the power button once.   It will print the eeprom data.

One way to know that you are in service mode is that each time you press the resume button, the green light will turn to orange and then back to green on the next press.

To exit the Service mode just press the power button once and it will power down.

I hope this is correct as I'm doing this from memory.

Just remove the cartridge from the printer.then unplug the printer from the main power outlet for a minute.then connect it.then insert the cartridge 1 by 1.then check out if the same error comes.as the cartridge is new the cartridge is not the problem.its the problem of white colour cable which moves the cartridge carriage that is got cut in between and needs replacement so it saying this error.just get it replaced from a proper technician .it will cost you near to $5 plus his service charge. thanks.

Clean the metal contacts inside the in carriage, where you fit the cartridge.
Usually, when cartridge is not detected , it is because of dirty contacts.

Use isopropyl alcohol and cotton to clean the contacts.

How open in laser toner catridge make-xerox model-phaser 3100

Replace the toner: Always use the smart card provided with the new Print Cartridge when replacing the cartridge. The smart card contains the information necessary to reset the level of Toner. Replacing the cartridge without using the smart card may result in the consumable management system being inaccurate.
  1. Insert the smart card provided with the new Print Cartridge into the smart card reader. A "Change Toner?" message will be displayed.

  2. Press the [OK] button. An "Open Front Cover Replace Toner" message will be displayed.

Received an error code 50c on my Dell printer

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

Thanks for all the ideas and help ; )

I have replaced all the ink cartridges and my printer says "no cartridge, open scanner cover"

It is probably best to replace cartridges individually as necessary. Let me explain. The printer display will tell you when a cartridge is "xx near empty" and when "xx empty" (where xx is the cartridge color).

1) Near Empty - you can continue to print. This message is to remind you to get a new "xx" cartridge and have it on hand.

Replacing the cartridge when "Near empty" will cause the machine to report "xx Empty" when it is not. It will not register that you have replaced it at "Near empty." Wait to replace the cartridge when you get the "xx empty" message.

2) XX Empty - you may not be able to continue printing. Replace cartridge "xx" now per your manual.

If you have replaced or reseated more than one cartridge, and you get the "no cartridge" error, you need to find out which one the machine "thinks" is problematic:

1) With the scanner cover open and locked in the "Up" position, the message may change to "Change cartridge, install xx" (xx refers to the color )

2) After changing the suspected cartridge and closing the scanner cover, be sure to notice the display. It will say, "Changed XX? 1. Yes 2. No" Press 1.

If all this explanation does not work, keep it in mind for next time. Brother says to unplug the machine for at least 10 seconds, then plug it in again. If the display shows the date and time, problem solved. If not, you may need to contact brother support.

Toshiba E-Studio 202L cartridge does not match manufacture

Did you replace the waste (used) toner cartridge or the empty toner cartridge? These copiers have 2 "cartridges" .... one is waste (used) toner, the other is "new" toner for copying / printing etc. Some newer copiers have All in One units....Drum, New Toner, Waste (used) Toner. If you replaced the Waste Toner container (or dumped it) that should reset the code or error message.

Hp all in one 6180 won't print

Hello,

The ink cartridges included in the box are used to set up the printer. This type of ink cartridge is called a “host” cartridge. Once the printer has completed device initialization, they are marked as regular “trade” cartridges. This error only occurs if the printer has finished the device initialization process and one or more of the ink supplies inserted into the printer are a “host” supply.

Solution: The indicated ink cartridge(s) cannot be used after the device has undergone first-time setup. Once the product displays the message ' The following ink cartridges cannot be used after device initialization and must be replaced ', the designated host cartridge(s) (indicated by the color icon(s) on the display) that were rejected should be discarded or recycled and never used again. Replace the ink cartridge(s) with the appropriate “trade” ink cartridges for the HP All-in-One.

I haven't the manual for this printer color laserJet 2600n series,

document.tlSearch.tx.value=unescape("") s.gif s.gif
HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer - Installing Print Cartridges When a print cartridge approaches the end of useful life, the control panel displays a message recommending that to order a replacement. The printer can continue to print using the current print cartridge until the control panel displays a message instructing to replace the cartridge. The printer uses four colors and has a different print cartridge for each color: black (K), cyan (C), magenta (M), and yellow (Y). Replace a print cartridge when the printer control panel displays one of the following messages: Replace yellow cartridge, Replace magenta cartridge, Replace cyan cartridge, Replace black cartridge. The control panel display also indicates the color that should be replaced (unless a genuine HP cartridge is not currently installed). Change the print cartridge
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Open the front door. c00315320.gif CAUTION: Do not place anything on the transfer belt (ETB), which is located on the inside of the front door.
  3. Remove the used print cartridge from the printer. c00315321.gif
  4. Remove the new print cartridge from the bag. Place the used print cartridge in the bag for recycling. c00315322.gif
  5. Grasp both sides of the print cartridge by the blue handles and distribute the toner by gently rocking the print cartridge from front to back. CAUTION: Do not touch the shutter or the surface of the roller. c00315323.gif
  6. Remove the orange shipping locks and the orange shipping tape from the new print cartridge. Discard the shipping tape and shipping locks according to local regulations. c00315324.gif
  7. Align the print cartridge with the tracks inside the printer, and using the handles, insert the print cartridge until it is firmly seated. c00315325.gif
  8. Firmly close the front door. c00315326.gif
  9. Turn on the printer. After a short time, the control panel should display Ready.
NOTE: If a cartridge is in the wrong slot or is the wrong type for the printer, the control panel will display one of the following messages: Incorrect yellow, Incorrect magenta, Incorrect cyan, Incorrect black.
  10. Installation is complete. Place the used print cartridge in the box in which the new cartridge arrived. See the enclosed recycling guide for recycling instructions.
  11. If a non-HP print cartridge is in the printer, check the printer control panel for further instructions.
NOTE: When replacing or changing a black print cartridge, a cleaning page will automatically print. This helps prevent speckles on the front or back of printed documents. A cleaning page can also be generated using the control panel or the HP Toolbox.
