Question about Samsung HP-R5072 50 in. Plasma HDTV
Just bought a Samsung PS42A418 on sale and i have a huge rectangular burn in nearly in the middle of it :(
I was never made aware that still pictures like the menu on a dvd will cause permanent damage to the plasma and now i just read on the instruction manual that burn-ins are not covered by the warranty :(
I am trying to find out if i can fix it at all before going to the store tomorrow although i very much doubt it that they will be accepting any liability.
On the tv menu there is screen burn protection but it says to prevent rather than to fix.
Can you please help in anyway ? Did not enjoy this damn tv for more than 24 hours :((((
No fix for this unit. The panel will have to be changed out and there is no way you did that in 24 hours unless you left it on a still image for several hours. If this was a floor modle it is very common for stores to achive burn in due to long hours on display.
