This is becoming a real issue with sanyo and dish. I understand there is a software upgrade to the sanyo that will correct color issues.

Look for a "reset" in the display settings. This should reset you back to factory or "out of the box" settings.
If this doesn't help, contact your local service provider and have them check out the set. May cost a small fee for a service call, but if the tech is knowledgable, he or she may give you enough insight or knowlege on how to set up your TV for your viewing environment. Those controls have a purpose that most people are uneducated about.
Check out http://www.imagingscience.com/ and if you can find a calibrator in your area, see if they will explain to you the benefits of a calibration. You might also be able to get some info from the site. Also, look at the bottom of the above web page. You will see that ISF is selling a disk that will guide you through a user menu calibraton.
I am an ISF certified calibrator, and I offer to my customers, a free user menu calibration, and yes, I use the afore-mentioned disk. Once you see the difference and are educated about what a calibration does for your perception of your set and how and why it operates the way it does, you will better understand.
Also keep in mind that ultimately there may be something wrong with your set. I am also a repair technician and I have seen countless issues when it comes to repair. Having said that, minor or slight color issues should be resolvable.
Best of luck.

Could our Dish remote control be causing our picture size problems? The ends of our picture are cut off. We've used the TV remote to change the size but all of those options are still too big.

the ends of the picture on most non hd will be cut off because they are made for the old tvs which don't have the same aspect ratio as the theatre screen shaped flatscreens.

I just purchased a 37"

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. Since you have already set the aspect ratio on your DISH receiver to the correct option the next step to try is changing the format. You can do this by pressing the (*) format button on the DISH Network remote, you should be able to cycle through a few different options to find the best one that fits your TV. If this option still does not fit the TV the way you want it to the only option left is to change the format options on the TV itself in the TV menus. You may have to refer back to your TV manufacture or the TV manual in order to do this. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions please let me know.

When we hooked up the dish network HD it asked for a rated image please enter password to view

This sounds like the issue is with your TV set not with the DISH receiver. If this is a TV issue you'll want to call the manufacturer. If this is an issue with the DISH receiver e-mail me at daniel.busa@dishnetwork.com and we can get this resolved!

What kind of HDMI cord do I need to purchase for this TV, I am running DISH Network also. Thanks!

There is only one type of HDMI cable, so any HDMI cable should be fine. Component cables are an alternative to HDMI cables, but keep in mind that component cables do not carry audio, so you will need to have the audio connected separately. Our HD receivers work great with HDMI or component cables.

I just switched to an HD receiver. The sound on the HD Channels is lower than the sound on the regular channels. How can I fix this? Dishnetwork has aready checked their end.

Some Sanyo TV's have a feature called Dynamic volume, this feature can be enabled by just pressing the dynamic volume button on the factory remote. We happen to offer a similar feature called volume leveling on our VIP 722k, 612, and 222k receivers. This is a recently released feature that will keep the volume even, during commercials or when changing channels. To access this press menu 6-1-6 and select enable under volume leveling.

My Vizio VX32L "wide" control only seems to toggle between "wide" and Zoom" -- "normal" is not an option. I am missing the top and bottom of my picture. Is there a setting I need to adjust or what? I have...

We would be happy to help you get that fixed. On the DISH Network remote press the "*" button located in lower left corner of the remote. Press it repeatedly to rotate through different screen shape settings until arrive at the desired format.

We hope that this helps get your picture corrected. Thanks for choosing DISH Network!

HD TV not passing the tests offered on network tv

Which network? Cable? Satellite? Dish or Direct?
With any of these providers, you should get an ATSC or "digital" signal. If not, the problem would most likely be with the service provider since they are converting the signal for you. The only way that your set would be affected is if you have an "off air" (antenna) signal only. At this point you would need a converter box. If your service provider is providing you with a HD receiver, then you should have no problem recieving HD (as long as your paying for HD). However, keep in mind, digital is NOT HD. If there is an incompatability with your receiver, check with your service provider for a software or hardware upgrade. Also, check with your local TV serviceman to find out if there are any software upgrades (firmware) for your TV. Being three or so years old, it is possible.
One last thing to check is to see what type of signal you are passing from your providers box to your TV (which type of cable". At a minimum, you need a "component" connection to pass HD content. A "composite" signal is standard definition. Best you can get right now is an HDMI cable. Best "one cable" source for video and audio.
Good Luck.

I just got a Vizio 37" TV from Walmart. When I turn it on, I get a blue screen that says No Signal. Help.I have Dish Network. What am I doing wrong?

Check that the connection where the dish box is connected to the TV is the selected input on your TV.

You should have either a component connection (5 cables) or HDMI (1 cable) connecting the dish box to your TV. The VX37 has two component inputs and two HDMI inputs (if I remember correctly). Use the INPUT button on your remote to select the correct input.

Once you confirm this and still have problems, post a response and I will follow-up.
