SOURCE: Dryer runs fine but heating unit will not ignite

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

I have a airwell GC-30RCC when put on heat the fan on the indoor unit wont kick in it works fine on cooling and plain fan mode but not on heat mode the red fan light is on too

How do you get it to kick in ?.Fid you spin it by hand ,if that's what you did and fan runs then you have a bad capicator. If fan runs fine in cooling and not in heat then you have a bad board

Addendum to original problem

rbf, the even heat board sits under the consol next to the timer. You could have a dual problem here. On your first post you said the dryer would run for approx 20 to 30 seconds and then shut off. This is a sure sign of a failed thermistor. You want to check it out. If you have to hold the start button in, then I would suspect the even heat board. I have seen this many times. Flip the consol up and inspect it. You will have to slide a putty knife under each end of the consol. You will feel a clip. Push on it and pull up at the same time. The consol will lift up. See if you see any burn marks on the board. Sometimes they look good but are bad. The part number for the board is 8545904. Double check that but Im sure it's right. With out being there and from what you are describing, I would go for the even heat board. But I would also check out the thermistor. Catriver.

My dryer heats up fine and tumbles but little to no exhaust coming out and clothes wont dry! Please help?

The first thing you should do is check to see that you have not blown the breakers it has a double breaker to allow for the 220 volts so make sure to trip both breakers, they will be side by side.look on the door panel of the breaker box to find the right one.If this doesn't work then you should check the lint trap and check to see that something is not blocking the exhaust hole. The only other thing is that the fan that blows the air in to it is not running. You will need to open it up to see if the fan is turning. These run on 220 volts so shut off the breaker and then unplug the machine before you attempt to take it apart. Good luck!

We have brought home two new roper dryers now because neither one of them heats up. we hooked up a brand new 3 prong plug to the new dryers and plugged them into the existing 220 outlet that our old dryer...

You need to double check that your wiring it up correctly at the junction block on the machine. if thats correct. Most likley is that you actually only have 110 volts going to the machine it will run fine but will not HEAT. check voltage at plug or where its wired into back of unit you should have 110 volts on two out of three with the third being ground if you dont you have a bad outlet or breaker in elec.panel

I have a 1982 yamaha vision 550 and it over heats iv tested the fan by giving it curent and the fan works fine is there a sensor or fuse that might be the problem

There should be a sensor in the bottom of the radiator that senses the water temperature and turns the fan on when it reaches a certain temperature. There is a sensor somewhere and I'm guessing it's in the bottom of the radiator. Jumper across it and see if the fan runs. To test it, you'll have to connect an ohm meter to it and put it in a pan of water. Slowly heat the water until the sensor changes state. Notice the water temp when this happens.

Indesit washer dryer, washer is fine, but dryer does not heat up

If you don't hear the fan running then the fan motor has gone bad. If the fan motor is bad then most likely your element has burned out. If you hear the fan motor than probably your element has gone bad..

No heat on kenmore 97272100 dryer

The following link explains how to troubleshoot as dryer no heat problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r630242-dryer_runs_but_not_heat

First, double check your voltage at the wall receptacle. If incorrect, this will also cause the symptoms you describe. The reason: The drive motor only requires 110-120VAC to run, while the heating circuits require the full 220 service. If you are missing one leg of your 220 service, the heating circuits will not operate, but the drive motor will still run.

Next, pay particular attention to the section that discusses proper dryer ventilation. Most dryer heat related problems are attributed to poorly/imporperly installed dryer exhaust vent ducting, or a dryer that is clogged with lint preventing proper air flow. If left in a clogged condition, a dryer will actually overheat to the point of failure and you will experience repeated failures of any components you replace.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you.

SOLENOID DOES NOT SEEM TO BE WORKING.

If your humidifier is wired to run only wen your fan is on. if your water supply is could you will not get any humidity unless the heat in on. you need to connect the humidifier to hot water then you can keep the fan on the on positions by your thermostat and set your hemostat to 35% hum.
