SOURCE: lost manual need to know what kind/weight oil does

Any good quality chain saw 'bar' oil is suitable and it does not need to be an expensve brand either: it is highly recommended that you use a specially blended chain saw 'bar' oil but in emergency you can you fresh 'thick' (e.g. older) car engine oil but don't make it a habit as your chain and bar will wear off a lot faster!

SOURCE: I have a Remington 16"

You need a specific oil called bar oil. It is very thick and non-detergent.
Don't use regular car oil. It is too thin and it won't stay on the chain long enough to keep the chain cool.

Any place that sells chain saws will carry it. Hardware stores, even WalMart. About $5 a quart. You can buy it in larger jugs if you plan to cut a lot of wood. (For a better price)

What type of oil does the Remington 3.0 peak HP 16

You can use any oil rated for chainsaw bar use. There's not a nickel's worth of difference in them. They're all formulated to stick to the guide bar and chain instead of slinging off when you pull the trigger. If you use a non-bar rated oil, the wear on the chain, sprocket and guide bar will be enhanced.

Remington chainsaw gas/oil ratio?

If this is an electric saw as the title says the only oil you put in it is bar oil. This is a thick oil to lubricate the chain and bar. If it is a gas powered saw you will need to mix the gas with 2 cycle oil.

I have a Remington 16"

most any bar and chain oil for chain saws will work. The cheaper the better just make sure you keep the chain oiled up. if you can touch the chain and oil oil does'nt get on you you not using enoght and put oil right on the chain. certainly when you put the saw away to store it. even wrapping the bar and chain in a rag with oil in it is a good idea as it'll be ready for next time.

What kind of oil does a Remington 3.25 (Peak hp) 16"/40, 6 cm Electric chain saw take

You need to use bar & chain oil. It's thicker and stickier that regular oil so it will stay on the bar and chain and not run out of the saw when you are done using it.

Hello Peggy: Ohio? I have a cousin there.
Back to your problem. RemingtonPower is no longer in production. The name has recently been purchased by MTD. It appears they are offering a few selected parts. A cover to fit your saw is now available.

I went here and input model M15014AS, followed the directions and when possible selected the IPD. I found Item 28, pn 107711-01, is NLA everywhere.
The "Sprocket Cover (containing the bushing)" is available "Item 6, pn 113007-01 - USE REPLACEMENT PART # 116675-01, NLA @ Remington Power but is available @ PartsFor.com. Please check my work below.
Remington.com

Type "YourModelNumber" into the "Search for your unit by Model:" window, then click search.
Click the “YourModelNumber” - Remington Electric Chain Saw "View Model" link.
Click “View Owners Manual” or "View Illustrated Parts Diagram" link.
Type "YourPartNumber" into the “Search for your parts by Part #:” window, then click search.

PartsFor.com

pn 116675-01, Availability: In stock, $15.60
If me I would use the phone number provided, ensure it will fit your saw, it includes the bushing, order with a credit card (recover your investment much easier), get the name of the service person helping me and the name of her/his supervisor.
Once I had it hand and it fit I would likely apply some double sided tape to preclude its loss again.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

What type of oil does it need

Bar and chain oil. It is SAE 30 with a some additives to make it adhere to your bar and chain.

An excerpt from a Remington manual follows (page 9 (edited)).
FILLING OIL TANK
1. Remove oil cap.
2. Fill oil tank with SAE 30 motor oil if the temperature is between 30 & 75°F

Colder use SAE 10 oil.
Warmer use SAE 40 oil.
3. Replace oil cap at once. Tighten oil cap firmly for a good seal. This will avoid oil seepage from tank.
4. Wipe off excess oil.

It is normal for oil to seep when saw is not in use.
Empty oil tank after each use to prevent seepage.

This is a Remington OM
