Vokera Unica HE boiler problem

Last night our boiler was working fine, then it went off and when i went to investigate there appeared to be no power - no leds lit on the boiler etc i put the boiler in the off position and left to check manuel etc, i returned after half and hour and the power was back on. and the boiler started working again. This happened a 2nd time later on. Any ideas what would cause this?

SOURCE: ariston A01 fault combi boiler

the A01 fault code is nearly always down to the pcb, 99% of the time in fact, its a common fault, but not common enough for ariston to be responsible for boilers out of the warantee. you can normaly check this yourself, while the tap is running check if the electrodes are still sparking even after the gas had lit, this means the pcb is not detecting the flame and trying to relight. eventualy it will lock out with a A01 code, if u reset it might work for a short time but eventualy u will get to the stage where it will no longer resart.
if your handy you can replace the pcb yourself, there is someone selling them on ebay for £85 thats a steel, its half the trade price never mind retail price!
pcb part number is 65103422 just search it on ebay!

SOURCE: Hi. Had a code 10

I had the same problem. There's another clear rubber pipe underneath, that runs from the front right to a pump in the middle. I had to pull it off and dry it with a hairdryer before mine would light properly. Blast into the hole the pipe came off too to dry the sensor if there is one.

If it is a gas unit, I am not familiar with that unit, I would get a qualified tec, it sounds like the gas is lightning late and the explosion you hear is real. Sorry I cannot offer more help.

Vokera aav leaking

Robert, i'm sorry to say but the AAV's are machined parts and the seal should not have been broken by removing the cap. The floats are set perfectly and you would have been easier replacing the whole vent. You could have isolated all the pipes under the boiler and just drained the boiler down by releasing any pressure by the pressure release valve. You may need to buy another AAV and start again.
