Can't change the prices on a Casio TK-6500

I have a Casio TK6500 and need to change the prices on the register but don't know how to change them. I bought it from someone who lost the manual. Can anyone tell me how to change the prices? Or does anyone have a copy of the user guide so that I can try to figure it out?

    Thanks Guru.

The site lead me to the program manual, which I have, but I need the user guide. The program manual doesn't really show me how to change the prices and it's really hard to understand as I am not a programmer. I'm about ready to throw the register out of the window. I'll continue to search for the user guide.

    Thanks though!

If you are still having problems downloading the manual, I have downloaded and stored it on my personal server: . this is the full 240+ page manual for the series. also the same manual as posted by dogcatbyme, just easier access.

If you will go to the link below you can download the manual for free...
if the link doesn't work go to casio in the dropdown then the model and it will take you to the page.
hope this helps.

sorry it wasn't what you were looking for. i will check a couple of sites that may have it.

try this for price change....try it on a seldom used plu to make sure this is the right method.

make sure you do the total for register readout before price changes or your counts get screwy.

using owner key turn the key to X.

hit subtotal, enter plu #, plu key, enter price, hit cash/amt tend key.

if this is correct then all you have to do is enter the next plu # and repeat. you do not have to hit subtotal first.

    X--subttl--plu #--plu key--price--cash/amt tend

    | here for next change

    hope this will help you.

i did look at that manual and yes that was bad.

I need to change the battery on a Casio TK-6500. There is nothing in the dealer's manual.

This will not answer your problem but it is a huge free dealers manual you might find handy in the future.

This is all I could find about battery
"These registers use a special 3 volt Vandium Pentoxide Lithium battery. It is made by Panasonic - code VL-3032."
Maybe you could post on that site.

Cash register casio tk 2300 not opening

If you can finish a sale but the drawer does not open, check the wires that come from the bottom of the register to the drawer. If one has broken or the plug has disconnected from the drawer, it will not open.

How do I programme prices to cash register? Casio tk 950 cash register

This is a rare model. I have never worked with these. Usually they are the SE series, not TK. I have sent a couple of my customers to a site on the net for a manual as it is in this prog manual. Hope it helps:

How do I change the battery in a casio tk 2700 cash register

Remove upper casework:
Ensure power to the ECR is off and the power cord is disconnected before connecting the interface.
a. Locate the power switch and switch off the ECR. Also disconnect the ECR from the mains supply.
b. Unlock and remove the printer cover (by tilting it up from the front).
c. Remove keys from mode locks etc.
d. Remove the grey name-plate located half way down and to the left of the register.
e. Remove the single screw located behind the panel (bottom right of printer mechanism).
f. Push in the two tabs located either side of the register and slide the top cover forwards. The cover should now lift upwards, away from the register.
g. Move the top cover on to its side towards the right of the register (take care as there are still cables linking the top and bottom halves).
