Question about Garden
My key switch dose work but not shut of engine
The key switch on these simple machines is nothing more then a Switch that shorts the Engine Coil to ground when you turn the key 'off'.
More than likely these cheesy key switches get gummed up inside and then when you turn the Key 'Off' it does not make the electrical connection to Ground as it should. OR the wire from the coil fell off the keyswitch. Usally only one wire going to swicth as the Key switch body is Ground because it is bolted to the Chassis of the machine.
Will it turn the engine off if you turn the key OFF and then wiggle it in the off position?
I usually get rid of the Key Switch and replace with a toggle switch.
