Parking Break Override

I just purchased the Jensen Phase Liner series UV8 moble media reciver. I had no problem with the install util the parking break defeated me from watching dvd. I have a 2002 GMC Envoy and I need to know how to override this parking break issue. I have read others replys to just ground the wire to a part of the frame but I do not know where this would need to be. Please help.

Simple if you don't know where to ground the wire to, just ground it with the ground wire of the radio. Twist the pink and black wires together, then put them with the black ground comming from the car. Hope this helps.

How do i get my dual dvd player to play movies while parking break is off

It is illegal in many states to play a dvd movie while driving... The car manufacturers do not want to get sued when you cause a collision.
The parking brake stays on.

How do i bypass parkingbreak for a jensen 9311ts on mustang 99

take the parking brake wire should be pink or some funky color and hook it up to a +12 power source.
that way there is no need to use the e brake or anything for it to work

But as a word of caution all this is illegal in most states due to people not keeping their eyes on the road. ive read of people getting tickets for having disabled this security feature on their stereos. some insurance companys will not cover you if there's an accident you are involved in and you by-passed the safety feature. so before you do it, be sure to read your local laws and check with your insurance agent before doing it. you will not be happy finding things out the hard way.

Need to by pass

Hi,

There are two ways of bypassing the brake sensor in a Phase Linear UV8:
1. ground the pink wire using a toggle switch;
2. Use the unit's built-in bypass software.
a. Select "Tuner" mode (AM/FM);
b. Press the "Setup" button;
c. With the use of the remote, press 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and then press and hold 0 for a couple of seconds or until the menu changes. d. d. Display should show hidden menu. Among the options would be to turn ON the "Brake override";
e. Press th "X" on the bottom leftmost corner.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FIXYA.

Jensen uv8

Yes, most of them have a factory bypass that you can enable, though this is illegal because you can not legally have a movie in front of you while you are driving. There are people that will insert the code for you for about $50, or you can find the code and do it yourself. I was able to disable it myself on my Jensen.
