Question about HP Photosmart C3180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
C3180. When I install a new black ink cartridge, I get an orange error message that says it's the wrong cartridge for the printer. It's not the wrong cartridge. I've tried cleaning, inserting and reinserting, plugging and unplugging, turning on and off...no change. This happened the last time I installed a black cartridge and I just turned it off and walked away. It righted itself. This time it won't.
I would double check that it is a compatible cartridge:
It might also help to clean the contacts inside the print carriage. A poor connection of the copper contacts on the cartridge with the copper contacts in the carriage can cause this error. Checkout step two in this documentation on HP customer care:
