Take the docking station back and get a new one. They all work differently, there might be a short, it might be normal for it to do that. another docking station will tell you if its normal, unlikely to get the same fault twice

Wii remote won't sync

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to be synced. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED on the front of the Wii Remote will blink. While the lights are still blinking, quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the front of the Wii console.
  4. When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

  5. This sync procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to the system.

Why can't I play the Wii there are new batteries.

You have to sync the remotes to the Wii. Open the battery compartment on the Wii Remote. There should be a little red button. Press this button. Now, on the front of the Wii, there should be a little door compartment where the SD cards etc. go. Open this door and press the red button there, after you have pressed the red button on the Wii Remote.
Your Wii Remote should now be synced with the Wii Console.

My kids used our Wii Remote without the Wheel and now the remote functions are stuck sideways as if it were used as the wheel. How do we fix it?

I don't believe you can change to directional pad layout. Try plugging the nunchuk into the remote.

With this setup, you use the stick on the nunchuk to control direction. The direction pad and buttons then change to suit this type of controller setup.

When I turn on WII it says ''press A to continue''ut nothing happens. I have changed the batteries in the remotes but they do not respond. I have checked the sensor is plugged in.

If you have multiple wii remotes, make sure the remote you are using is synced to your system. In case you are not sure how to do this:
1. Open the battery cover on the remote and press the red "SYNC" button. The lights on the remote should begin flashing.
2. Open the SD slot on the Wii system and press the "SYNC" button.
3. Once the lights on the remote stop flashing, the process is complete and you should be able to use your remote.
Remember, you have to go through this process with each new remote in order for it to work.

My wii remotes aren't working

First unplug the AC adapter from power cord and wait 10 min. Then plug it again and open the front cover on your Wii, then push the red button there, then open the batteries cover on your Wii Remote and push the red button there.Do the same for second Wii Remote. If this not help press and hold
the red SYNC button on the console for 15 seconds. This will clear all synced Wii Remotes from the console. Then try sync the Remotes again.

My wii remotes do not charge on the docking station

Do you have the Rechargeable batteries for the Wii-Motes in? (Special)
If not, Try wiggling them around and see if the light comes on, or, they may already be fully charged, Also, make sure the charging dock is plugged in. You'll need to remove the jackets the controllers are in to charge them.If you still can't get them to charge, I'd recommend checking Nintendo, Or the manual for the charging dock. (It is a charging dock, Right? Because there is a dock that goes on the Wii that's NOT supposed to charge them)

Remote dont work. lights just flash. tried to sync did not work. Bought a new remote and went to sync it now it is doing the same thing the other remote did> Any suggesions?

Basic Question: Did you set up the sensor bar?

I'm assuming you follow the instructions to plug in the Wii and to attach the sensor bar to the console and position the sensor bar so it is either below or above the television.

The Wii remote flashes (more specifically the bottom row of four lights that indicate which player each remote belong to flashes) when a button is pushed on the control while the Wii is off.

If the Wii is on and simply sleeping (as evident by a blinking yellow light on the power button on the console) pushing the power button the control should turn on both the console and the remote. Be sure to aim the remote at the console when "waking" the Wii up and at the sensor bar once the Wii Menu loads. The remotes automatically turn off with lack of interaction.

To recap: Your remotes sound to be working fine. I would assume it might be a problem with the interaction between your console and the remotes or the setup of the console. The Wii Information Guide has pictures and pretty clear connection instructions that should help fix your problem.

If everything is set up correctly as per the instructions and your system still does not interact your sensor bar may be faulty or your console as I believe you're remotes work fine.
