Question about Denon AVR 3808Ci Receiver
I ran test with the system but still no sound from sub, yes its turned on in settings? is their a fuse inside and were would it be located? i have all ready pulled the top, not sure which fuse to check. all that i can see look ok, but their is one that is a light brown and not made of glass, looks like alumin.
I have the same receiver (Denon AVR 3808CI) and I have used the RCA subwoofer out to multiple different subwoofers and none produce any sound. Does anyone know a solution?

I'm having the same problem. Changed the wire from LFE to LFE input to the sub... I have a velodyne which has always worked great. Connected the sub with the original wire to my sony amp and it works great so it's the output on the amp. Any suggestions

If your tv is putting out mono you will only get the center and sub speakers. This can be because the tv is only mono, or the output is set to mono in a menu of the tv. If you have cable or sat run the digital audio out to you receiver; it usually sound better that way anyhow. Set your receiver to Dolby mode for best sound.

Check that your speaker cables are not touching each other at the amp end and also at the speakers as this will cause the amp to shut down.
hope this helps.

Most of Denon receiver are on screen configuration. There should be an onscreen output in the back of the receiver, connect the video cable from that output to the tv and press the oncreen button on the remote to config. There s/b an option to turn the sub on. good luck

You don't need to fake it with a VCR - on the back left side near the bottom there is a Monitor section with an RCA connection and an S-Video connection. Connect one of these to an input connection on your tv and switch your tv to show that input. Select the AMP setting of your remote and press Setup.
